Notes:
This is a little birthday present to [personal profile] hanarashi25 ! As a thank you for all your lovely comments and your support. I'm so happy you share my Juntoshi-love.
Btw. this whole story came alive because of me and yuki joking about how we should visit Matsumoto (the town) next time when we are in Japan, so that we then could say we spent a night in Matsumoto (hohoho)

The first time Ohno spontaneously hugged Jun from behind – a surprise attack because he felt silly and weirdly chipper right after they their last concert together, and forgot that Jun hates surprise attacks of that kind – Jun spins around and slaps him. His hand flexed, fingers apart, it leaves a stinging impact on Ohno’s cheek. Ohno moves his hand up to his face to soothe the pain. More shocked than Ohno is Jun though.

“Oh my god,” Jun breaths out in sudden panic, his eyes wide and shock all written over his face. His expression is so open that it’s unusual to see the normally so stoic Jun like that. “What have I done!? I’m so sorry, Riida, I didn’t know it was you… it… oh no… I…I didn’t even think… I just… oh my god…”

He is such a stuttering mess that Ohno reacts out of a natural instinct, and takes his hands to calm him down. “Nothing happened, Jun-san. I’m sorry I forgot you don’t like to get touched by surprise, especially not from behind.”

“But…” Jun looks miserable. “It doesn’t justify hitting you. Or anyone. How could I do something like that? I mean, how could I…”

“It was a spontaneous reaction,” Ohno soothes Jun, squeezing his hands softly. “It’s my fault too. I didn’t think before.”

“An over-reaction,” Jun points out. He reaches out his fingers to touch Ohno’s cheek, and Ohno lets him much to his own surprise. His fingers are shaking slightly, but they are warm and soft. Jun has the most beautiful hands he has ever seen at a man. “I’m so sorry,” Jun mumbles sadly and pulls his hand away.

Ohno has to chuckle. “Come, let’s go and have a cold beer together, and try to forget it.” When Jun still looks a bit wary, Ohno chuckles and takes his hand to pull him along. He hasn’t even realized that he is holding his hand until he can feel Jun’s finger wrapped around it.

It probably started from this moment on. Even before Ohno was downright and consciously flirting with Jun, this was the moment his subconscious probably decided he wants him.

~~~
“Here,” Jun lets Ohno taste from his pasta.
“Hm, okay,” Ohno states calmly. “Yours is better.”
To his joy Jun blushes slightly. “It’s a top notch restaurant. My pasta can’t be better.”
“It is,” Ohno says with emphasis and means every word he says. “You put so much effort into your food. That alone makes it a whole new experience.”
Jun tilts his head, a smirk circling around his lips. “By your logic it would mean that you also love Sho-san’s food,” he teases.
Ohno grins. “No matter how much effort Sho puts into his cooking, it will always be… Sho’s cooking. You however… cook like an artist.”
“Stop it,” Jun groans. “Enough teasing.”
Ohno blinks in surprise. “I’m not teasing. I just wanted to say that your cooking-“
“Yes, I understood, I’ll cook for you!” Jun blurts out, making Ohno blink once more. This wasn’t his intention either – forcing Jun into cooking for him – but well… he won’t say no to this offer.
“When?” Ohno asks, because when they are already talking about it they could as well set a date.
Jun looks up in surprise, apparently more than a little shocked that Ohno seems to take it so seriously. “Sunday?” he asks.
“Good.” Ohno nods.
They eat their pasta in silence, but it’s not an uncomfortable one. Actually it feels almost relaxing to just eat with someone and not be forced into a conversation. At one point though Jun looks up, biting down on his lip. “I’m sorry for hitting you.”
Ohno bites off the head of a scampi, dropping it on his plate. He chuckles. “It’s okay.”
“It had to hurt,” Jun says, sounding miserable.
Again Ohno smiles reassuringly. “Jun-san, you reacted instinctively. I scared you. It’s okay.”
There is more Ohno could say about this topic and more he could ask Jun but he decides now is not the time for it. Now is rather the time to make Jun loosen up towards him and feel comfortable, and figuring by the way Jun smiles warmly at him and how he asks for Ohno’s preferences for their dinner on Sunday, he is on the best way to it.
~~~

It’s a Friday in April when Ohno decides to hug Jun again. From behind of course. It’s a spontaneous reaction again because Jun has been dancing like in trance the whole day, his hair a cute mess and a blissful smile on his lips. He is so adorable that Ohno just has to squish him. This time however he is prepared. He wraps his arms around Jun in a way that also his arms are captured tightly, squishing him. Before he lets go and takes a jump back. Jun jumps around swiftly, hands swinging dangerously but Ohno is far away. He tilts his head. “Sorry, Jun-san,” he says with emphasis. “I wasn’t thinking again.”

To his surprise Jun doesn’t get mad, instead he lets his head hang down. “No, I’m sorry. I don’t know…” His voice trails off, but Ohno can take a wild guess what he wants to say.

He takes a step forward, reaching out his hand to touch Jun’s shoulder. His hand moves over his arm and up his neck. “May I hug you like this? When you can see me?”

Jun blinks, then however he chuckles and nods. And Ohno doesn’t wait for a second invitation and just hugs Jun tightly. “We need to work on this,” he says casually, but doesn’t specify what.

Jun seems to understand though because he nods. “Yes.”

~~~
Ohno watches in awe while Jun cooks. “You know, when I cook I randomly put things in my pan and hope it will be edible.”
Jun chuckles. “I’m sure you have a plan when you cook.”
Ohno smiles. “Not really. However, I have a plan today.”
“And what’s that?”
“I’ll hug you, without you knowing it.”
Jun swallows and puts the spoon aside. “You mean, you will surprise me, but won’t tell me when?”
Ohno nods, curiously eying Jun’s expression and how it goes through various emotions. He seems to be worried and nervous above all. “You don’t need to be scared,” Ohno says softly.
“I’m afraid I’ll hurt you,” Jun says quietly. “I already did once.”
“Please,” Ohno snorts. “You slapped me once. It’s not like you ninja-attacked me with a sword in a hand. Don’t be so overdramatic.”
Jun frowns. “I’m not being overdramatic,” he defends himself, pouting slightly.
Ohno generously ignores it. He knows he will win. He is not so sure why Jun always gives in when he wants something, but he does, and this time it comes as an advantage for both of them. “You don’t like being hugged from behind, Jun-kun, that’s not a problem. But don’t you want to at least…”
“React normally when someone does?” Jun finishes his sentence.
Ohno nods.
Jun turns back to his pan. “Just don’t do it while I’m cooking or holding a knife.”
Of course Ohno won’t. It would be too dangerous. Besides he has a way better idea anyways. He chuckles slightly to himself while he thinks about what to do. Meanwhile Jun tries to pretend like he isn’t worried or nervous, but it’s obvious that he is tensed, jumping whenever Ohno moves closer to him, acting like he is constantly on the edge. Ohno does feel sorry for putting him through this, but Jun has a problem, and it might not be a huge one or nothing that can turn his life into chaos but it is still a problem.
“I’ll be taking a bath before we eat,” Jun says with a chuckle. “You might think I’m weird, but I hate it when I smell like food.”
“Sure, go ahead,” Ohno says. “I’ll set the table meanwhile.”
He smirks slightly while he follows Jun to the bath. Gladly Jun loves luxury, in any variety, which is probably why he has a huge bath to begin with. Ohno would never pry on him or invade his privacy, but while Jun fills the bathtub with water, he is still wearing clothes and-
Jun squeals when Ohno hugs him from behind and they both fall into the huge bathtub. Jun gurgles slightly, and complains, glaring at Ohno before he bursts into laughter. “You idiot! Riida, you are an idiot.”
Ohno chuckles too. “Why? You wanted to take a bath anyways!”
Jun smiles. “You… silly…”
“I knew you would like it,” Ohno teases, laughing when Jun splashes water into his direction.
“You do realize you are wet too now,” Jun snorts. “And that I would have killed everyone else for this here?”
Ohno smiles. “Well, still worth it.”
It wouldn’t be Jun if he couldn’t provide Ohno with a second – dry – outfit for the night. After messing around for a while they both change into dry clothes and decide to have their dinner together.
“Do you know why you don’t like it when someone hugs you from behind?” Ohno asks when they eat their dessert.
“No,” Jun says.
“Yes, you do,” Ohno says quietly. He doesn’t want to push Jun… okay, maybe a little, but he doesn’t want to make him feel uncomfortable and pressured.
“I was attacked, once,” Jun admits quietly.
Ohno looks up in surprise. “As a child?”
“No in my early twenties. I was walking home from a shooting we had.” Jun shifts around nervously, before he takes a shot from his whisky. “I wasn’t careful enough, but someone suddenly attacked me from behind. He wanted to…well… get his way, but I struggled and fought, and gladly someone passed by and called the police.”
Ohno stares at Jun in mere disbelief. Did he just tell him… that… what? “You mean someone attacked you from behind!?” he blurts out, his heart racing uncontrolled. They were probably together this evening and then Jun went home, and when he returned the next day something in his life had changed, and none of them FREAKING NOTICED! Ohno can’t help but stare at Jun for a while. “Damn, Jun, how horrible,” he finally says, his voice hoarse. “I’m so sorry. I…”
“Why are you sorry?” Jun asks in surprise.
“I should have noticed. None of us realized. How pathetic.”
Jun reaches out his hand to touch Ohno’s arm. “I didn’t tell you so that you would feel bad or guilty. You just asked me what happened, and I wanted to be honest.”
Ohno squeezes his hand. “I know. Thank you for being honest, Jun. It’s just-“
“I know,” Jun interrupts him. “But it’s been over 10 years ago, and I’ve had time to deal with it. It was wrong not to tell you guys, but back then I was proud and easily getting scared. I didn’t have that much faith in myself and you guys yet. Later on I didn’t want to open old wounds anymore.”
“Today,” Ohno says nervously. “Would you tell us today? If something like that happened again.”
Jun tilts his head, a frown gracing his beautiful face. “I would tell you,” he finally says.
Ohno needs a while to understand Jun’s words, once he does the tight feeling inside his chest makes place for a warm one. “Is that true?” he asks.
Jun nods.
“So, do you allow me to therapy you?” Ohno asks daringly.
Jun blinks in confusion. “You don’t even know how to therapy someone, do you?”
“Not at all, but…” Ohno tilts his head. “I still want to help you. I don’t mind if you hit me when I hug you from behind. Or if we drop into the bathtub and get all wet. I want to do this together with you.”
What the hell is he even saying? It sounds like a freaking confession. And on top of that a pretty bad one. To his utmost surprise though Jun suddenly looks happy, a faint blush on his cheeks and blissful smile on his lips. Did he just seriously say the right thing? “That’s a first,” Ohno muses.
“A first?” Jun asks curiously.
“That I didn’t fail completely with words.”
“Oh,” Jun giggles. “You kind of failed, but it still makes me happy.”
“Then I was successful,” Ohno says seriously. “If in the end you will be happy, my words are successful.”
Jun stares at him for a while, chewing on his bottom lip. “Now…” he chuckles weakly. “What you said now is…”
He doesn’t specify what it is, but Ohno assumes it’s something good. For a person like him who doesn’t like to talk much and use many words, it’s good to know that sometimes having the right intentions and being honest is enough.
“So, what’s this thing between you and J?” Nino asks while slurping on his instant cup noodles.
Ohno grimaces slightly. After gotten used to Jun’s cooking, he just can’t smell this crap anymore. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, are you a thing?” Nino wants to know, switching on his TV with his foot and grabbing his controller with his free hand.
“A thing?”
“Jeez,” Nino groans. “A couple! Are you together? Do you like him? Do you want to get in his pants?”
“Yeah.”
Nino almost spits out the noodles again, coughing. “Yes? What… you like him and want to get in his pants?”
“Yes, both options sound good. Can’t I have both?”
Nino still stares at him, parts of the soup dropping down his chin and into his cup. He takes a tissue to wipe his face clean. “How can you say something like that?”
“Why?” Ohno blinks. “Jun is beautiful. And I like him.”
“Yes, but normally people beat around the bush and don’t say something like that directly,” Nino argues, looking at Ohno expectantly. When Ohno just shrugs, Nino lets out a frustrated sigh. “Fine, forget it. Does he like you too?”
“He lets me hug him,” Ohno says, tilting his head. “And I held his hand.”
Nino scratches the back of his head. “Hm, he is not particularly touchy normally,” he agrees.
“He and I agreed on working on this issue of his. That he doesn’t like to be hugged from behind.”
This time the noodles drop out of Nino’s mouth and into the cup, soup splashing into all directions. “What!?” he squeals. “He lets you hug him from behind? J never lets someone touch him from behind.”
Something about this answer makes Ohno feel weirdly content, and special.
~~~

He and Jun meet to dance. They do that sometimes, mainly because they are passionate about dancing, although their styles are differently. Jun likes classic dance or modern ballet. Ohno likes R ‘n’ B and everything alike. But they never minded their different styles, it is fun to dance together and to share this passion with each other.

“Say, Jun-kun.” Ohno watches how Jun spins around gracefully, trying to get down the triple spin. Of course he stumbles at one point and drops to the floor, laughing. “Why do you let me into your personal space?”

Jun turns on his back, slipping towards Ohno on his back and facing him from the floor. “Just happened, I guess. I’m not overthinking it.”

This coming from the biggest perfectionist ever sounds like a joke. Ohno snorts. “Right.”

“Hey,” Jun grins. “Sho-san is the over-thinker. I’m just the perfectionist.”

That’s true, although Ohno is not quite convinced. “You need to tell me if I invade your privacy too much. If you don’t want to be touched.”

Jun tears his gaze away from Ohno. “I don’t like to be touched from behind,” he says, and Ohno’s heart sinks. “But…”

His heart jumps carefully in relief. “But?”

“But I don’t mind if it’s you.”

Jun sits up, turning his back towards Ohno, like he is embarrassed by his own words. Ohno reaches out his hand, carefully touching Jun’s shoulder. “I want to try something new,” he whispers.

Jun nods, not moving an inch, but there are goosebumps on his arms when Ohno moves his hands over his arms, touches his neck. He lets his arm move around Jun’s chest, touching his other side like that. He slips closer to Jun, not hugging him, but leaning against his back and touching his neck from the front side while sitting behind him. His heart jumps in joy when Jun’s fingers suddenly touch his arm, brushing over it. Jun turns his head with a smile. “You are hitting on me, aren’t you?”

Ohno nods. “Would that be a problem for you?”

“It would be a problem for me, if you had just hugged and touched me all the time without meaning it. I was never in for an experiment.”

Ohno’s nose brushes over Jun’s cheek. “Me neither.”

Jun turns his head further to look at Ohno directly, lips parted slightly, and it’s all the invitation Ohno needs. He wraps his arms around Jun from behind, and kisses him softly. Jun’s body isn’t tensed at all.

~~~
Ohno just came back from a TV-show recording in a town in the middle of the country. He picked up Jun in the morning to spend some time with him before they had their rehearsals.  “Are you free this Sunday?” Ohno asks.
Jun nods with a smile, planting a kiss on Ohno’s lips.
“How about we go out for dinner?” Ohno suggests, daringly wrapping his arms around Jun.
Jun chuckles. “No need to experiment anymore. I don’t freak out if you are the one hugging me from behind.”
“Oh,” Ohno chuckles. “I have other plans we could to from behind too.”
Jun grins. “Soon,” he promises. “But for now we should not scare our lovely bandmates too much by making out in front of them.”
Ohno laughs and lets go of Jun’s waist. “Right,” he says.
It doesn’t take long for the others to join them, all of them surprised to see Jun so early and as one of the first, without being grumpy to have a practise in the morning. “Wow,” Aiba comments. “Miracles.”
Jun chuckles. “Don’t be silly. I’m not always moody in the morning.”
Aiba and Nino exchange a glance but don’t comment his words. Nino however throws a knowing smirk towards Ohno.
“How was your day yesterday?” Sho asks.
Ohno smiles. “Good,” he says. “A very interesting and intense experience. I spent the night in Matsumoto.”
Jun blushes furiously while Nino burst into giggles. Aiba blinks first, before he grins. “Really?” he says in interest. “And how was it?”
Ohno blinks in confusion at the weird reaction of the others. “Well, beautiful. It was very warm and-“
Nino gasps for air. “Please, have mercy,” he breaths out.
Ohno frowns, looking at Jun who just shakes his head. “I really was in Matsumoto,” he tries to explain. It slowly dawns on him what the others read into his words. Jeez, like little children.
“Yeah,” Sho sighs mock-dramatically. “Wouldn’t we all love to be in Matsumoto?”
“We do,” Aiba grins.
“What?” Ohno huffs. “None of you gets to put anything into Matsumoto!”
Jun covers his face, mumbling something incoherently about the weather, food and their practise, and something that sounds like ‘Shuddupyuidiots’. Ohno takes his hand possessively, staring the others down. “We’ll start with the rehearsals now.” He shoots invisible daggers at them. “I hope you guys know your steps?”
Aiba and Sho exchange a panicked look, while Nino just grins. Ohno nods contently, squeezing Jun’s hand. No one is going to stay in Matsumoto – except for him of course.
I think nobody like to be surprised by being grabbed from behind. And each one has a reaction. I almost faint of scare.
And yes. Jun and Ohno are the most homey couple! Like those comfortable-with-each-other-trust-each-other old couples.
Blossoming love, confessions and JunToshi. That's just the way I like it!
Thank you!!
