Summary: Being a privileged boy out of a rich family doesn’t mean you get more love. Kame knows that just too well. All day long he fights against this monster called loneliness, until a new boy joins his class. He is coming out of a different background and just as lonely as he is.
Kame fights against the feelings that are awakening inside him, not able to trust anyone around him. But then he starts to get strange anonymous messages, his heart warming up towards a person he doesn’t even know…and to this strange boy in his class.

“So, where are you from, Nishikido-kun?” Some of the girls where hovering over Ryo’s table, looking at him curiously.

Jin rolled his eyes at that. “Really…they are like the piranhas. Give them fresh flesh and they will get crazy.”

“You are just jealous.” Uchi intervened. “Because he is prettier than you are.”

“What?” Jin teased. “Is the princess still grumpy because of last week?”

“Shut up.” Uchi grumbled.

“Jin’s right.” Kame mumbled. “He is not that special…”

“See?” Jin pulled an eyebrow up. “Kazu thinks the same. They just like him because he is new and new things are interesting… Give them two weeks and they aren’t interested anymore.”

“Yeah.” Kame mumbled, looking at Ryo for a moment. “He really isn’t that gorgeous. I don’t get the fuss.” He shook his head, hiding his blush perfectly behind his cold surface.

“And I still think…” Uchi started again. “…that Kazu might not like him for real, but Jin is just jealous.”

“You know what princess? Cut it.” Jin told him.

Pi sighed deeply. “Honestly… let’s just stop this, okay? You are getting on my nerves…”

“He is right. Actually you guys are just making the same fuss over him as the girls.” Jun laughed. “Okay, let’s go then. It’s lunch break after all.”

“True.” Pi mused. “We could go to our place. It’s still warm outside…”

“Good idea.” Jin jumped up. He turned around a bit. “What are you waiting for Kazu?”

Kame stood up, following his friends outside and walking towards the door. He tried to ignore the comments from the girls towards the new guy. He isn’t really chatty. But so serious.

He is cool…

At least you have a mother…

Kame sighed tiredly when he remembered these words in the note-book. He wanted to ignore them, ignore this little house and the fact that apparently someone else beside him knew about it. He wanted to forget about it. But he couldn’t. And this almost drove him insane. He never gave a shit about anyone beside himself, he didn’t want to interact with people too much. Even his friends he kept on a distance. And he only hung out with them, because society expected him to have some friends that fit him.

Not that he didn’t like them, but he didn’t want to know too much about them, and he didn’t want them to know too much about him. It made him nervous. He hated it to open up. Nevertheless he was glad that he found this bunch of guys, because they pretty much left him alone, not butting into his business all the time.

The more he was surprised that this little message in the secret notebook affected him so much. He didn’t want it to affect him. It made him nervous and unsure and uncomfortable. And at the same time he was curious. Who wrote this message? Who else was out there? Why? He sighed, rubbing over his head a bit. Well, weekend would come up soon… and then he would be looking for a save place again… Hence, he just had to go to the little, calm cottage. He didn’t want to give up on it, just because someone else had found it too. He had been there first, damn! So he had a right to be there.

“Hey…”

Kame blinked when he heard a low and almost shy voice behind him. He turned around, his eyes immediately catching the fragile guy, sitting on one of the window sills. Now Ryo jumped down, bending down to pick up Kame’s wallet. “You lost that.”

Kame looked at Ryo first, then at the wallet in his hand. He took it, looking away from Ryo. “Thanks.” He mumbled. “But from now on don’t mind my business…”

Kame stretched when he lay down under the sun. It felt warm and comfortable. They had one hour free now and while his friends were playing basketball, he was lying at a hidden place at the roof top, to have some free minutes alone.

“You are getting too much attention… little scum.”

Kame blinked at that, sitting up a bit and turning his head to see what’s going on. He was surprised to see the new boy leaning against the balustrade, three guys around him. They were from the third grade, older than they were. Bullies. Kame pretty much despised them.

Ryo didn’t answer to their offending words, apparently he was planning to ignore them. Kame wavered for a moment… Should he ignore them or save Ryo. Kame sighed, he wasn’t interested at all to step between them. He didn’t want to bother with this Ryo… not because he didn’t like him, but he simply wasn’t interested in the problems that an interaction with him would bring along. But there was a difference between butting into someone’s business or befriending him and letting someone being bullied. After all Ryo was much tinier than these three guys.

Kame sat up, ready to go between these guys and Ryo, when his eyes widened in shock. He could see how Ryo pulled himself free from the guys, jumping up and standing on the balustrade out of a sudden. “If you come any closer or bother me again, I’ll jump…” he mumbled, eyes shining in a cold determination that made Kame shiver. He meant it. This guy meant what he said. He would jump. For a moment Kame was too paralyzed to even move or react in any way, eyes just pinned to this slender boy, ready to end his life in such a way.

Then the realization slowly hit him and he finally pulled his body out of this state of numbness and rushed towards the scene in front of him. To his luck apparently also the other guys were shocked.

“He is…insane.” One of them mumbled in fear.

“Let’s go…” the other stuttered, obviously afraid that Ryo would fulfil his dangerous promise.

Gladly there often wasn’t much strength or anything similar strong behind these guys, so they all pulled away immediately, leaving the scene as fast as possible.

Kame stared at Ryo in utter shock, then he grabbed his arm and pulling him down. “Are you insane, idiot?”

With a swift movement Ryo got his arm free from Kame’s grip, not even looking at him. He grabbed his back. “Sorry for minding your business.” he told him coldly, before he turned around and left Kame alone on the roof deck.

Kame sighed, exactly this was one of the reasons he didn’t like to interact with people. Emotions and feelings always got in their way… they became angry and annoyed and sad and troubled. And Kame didn’t want to know any of these details and emotions.

Just that there was something in this picture of Ryo, standing on the balustrade that didn’t let him go again. Had he really been ready to jump? Ending his own life… this was a huge step. What kind of dark feelings were swirling around inside Ryo?

Kame sighed tiredly when he reached the little cottage, feeling warm immediately when he closed the door behind him. He sat down on one of the chairs, pulling his knees up to comfort himself from the emptiness inside and around him.

He sighed deeply, angling for the book inside of the box. When he opened it, he blinked in surprise. It was clearly there. At least you have a mother…

But beneath it there was written something else, a new line.

Why am I alone? Why do I have to live in such a world all alone?

A/N: Everyone, sorry for the posting delay. I was sick and couldn't update. However, here it is, the 2nd chapter. Soon things will start rolling, I promise :D
