It is the way the leaves crumble beneath his feet, the sound they make when he walks through a deserted, calm side path, the smell in the air at the seaside – fresh and cold but not freezing yet, the sound of the strong waves against the rocks… all these things draw him to this season so much. It makes him calm and relaxed whenever he is outside alone and can feel autumn with all his senses. Not that he goes out that often, but at least, sometimes he manages. It’s just the perfect melancholic but sweet time of the year that he likes.

Especially when enjoying autumn comes together with being on a very rare short trip with his bandmates. They don’t have much time for that anymore, but occasionally, they steal themselves away for a few days… and are just heading for a deserted place, cut off from curious journalists and work.

So, when his favourite season collides with one of those secret short trips, it makes him feel all fuzzy and happy.

It should make him feel that way.

Normally it does.

This time though, he is stomping over the beach in frustration. Sure, he has been very busy during the last weeks, months even, and he didn’t have any time for his friends, but damn it, was that reason enough for Satoshi to start drooling over Jun? Today, during their late lunch, that idiot even stole a piece of tempura from Jun’s chopsticks. Then, that super-stupid idiot² fell asleep with his head in Jun’s lap. Does he even know what he’s getting himself into? He can’t just play Jun, Satoshi should-

The words basically get stuck in his brain. SATOSHI DOESN’T PLAY AROUND EITHER. Fuck you. Does that mean… Oh my god…

“You look like you just saw a ghost!”

The words are accompanied by a soft chuckle and Nino spins around in surprise. Sho’s right behind him. He is wearing that ridiculous red panda shirt and a pair of olive green super-wide trousers which he should have never bought. “What are you doing here?”

Sho grins. “I was looking for a place to grab something to eat. I’ve heard that they have a nice place for ramen right at the beach.”

Nino stares at Sho absent-mindedly, not even grasping what he was saying. It’s not important really. What is more important is- “They are on it, they are falling for each other,” Nino presses out. “What the hell should we do now?”

Sho blinks. “Who? What?” A pause. “So, you don’t want to go for ramen?”

“Stop talking about the freaking ramen!!”

Sho lets out one of those sighs that easily irritate Jun normally. Finally, Nino understands why. It’s like Sho is not taking him seriously. “So, what is the problem?” Sho finally asks.

“Jun and Satoshi.”

“What about them?”

“Don’t tell me you didn’t realize?” Nino stares at the other for a while, rolling his eyes. While he is looking at Sho though, an idea starts to form in his head, getting more and more concrete with every word that spills from his mouth now. “They are hitting it off,” he explains casually. The idea is there. Thank you brain!

Sho laughs but it sounds nervous, much to Nino’s delight. “What are you even talking about?”

“They are falling for each other.” Nino explains calmly. “Don’t tell me you didn’t see all their cuddling and touching.”

“But Nino,” Sho laughs. “That’s fanservice!”

Nino huffs. “You can’t be serious!” He feels like smacking Sho across his head, but it most likely wouldn’t come in advantage of his plan. “It’s fanservice when fans are around! But it’s only the five of us here or are you counting us as fans? Don’t tell me you are-“ he gives his voice a certain high-pitched, mock-excited tone. “-shipping Juntoshi now?”

Sho frowns, deeply. Finally. “You mean-“

“Yes.”

When Sho looks up he looks clearly nervous now. “But they are just playing around, aren’t they?”

“Playing around? J only had serious relationships. The only one-night stand was… you, 10 years ago, if I may remind you.” Nino lets out a sigh, sitting down on one of the empty sun loungers. It’s just the right amount of drama. He should finally get nominated for the Oscar, seriously. “It fits what Jun said last week,” he adds after a dramatic pause.

“What did he say?” Sho’s voice sounds sharp and tensed. He is exactly at the right place now.

It’s a risk because technically, Nino can’t be sure what Sho and Jun talk about in private and he isn’t too sure about the unspoken things between them either. But he can take a wild guess, and drastic times need drastic methods. “That he is tired of waiting. Needs to move on finally. He can’t continue on like this. He needs to find someone who truly likes him.”

“HE DID NOT SAY THAT!” Sho presses out, emphasis on each word.

“Why?” Nino fakes surprise.

Sho stares at him for a long while, then his gaze shifts to the huge beach house they are living in right now. “Where is he now?” he finally asks.

Finally, something Nino knows for sure and doesn’t need to make up. Jun and Satoshi have excused themselves right before he went for a walk. “In his room together with Satoshi. They wanted to play something. Not sure what game…”

“Fine,” Sho huffs, turns around and rushes to the villa. Apparently, he has forgotten all about his beloved ramen.

When Sho stomps off like that, Nino knows he has basically won. He waits a bit, then he walks back to their villa too.

~~~
Satoshi stands outside of Jun’s room, with a cute annoyed frown on his forehead.  He looks so pissed and irritated and lost at the same time that Nino has to hold back not to jump him right there. “Can’t get inside!” Satoshi huffs. “Half an hour ago Sho stormed into the room, basically ripped his shirt from his body like in a cheap porn movie, threw me outside together with his shirt-“ Satoshi waves with Sho’s red shirt from the beach, probably to underline his words. “-and since then they are… hell, how should I know what they’re doing!? I just know that the room is locked.”
Nino grins and kneels down, peaking through the keyhole. What he sees is basically exactly what he had hoped for – in fact, it gives him quite some ideas on what to do himself now. These two really have some stamina – all the workout pays off now. Awesome work Sho-chan!
“And? What should I do now?” Satoshi whines. “My wallet is still inside too. And my suitcase with my pyjama. Where am I sleeping tonight?”
Nino smiles happily, takes the shirt from Satoshi’s hand and throws it into the dustbin – Jun will most likely thank him for that later and will add the awful military, two-size too big trouser to it as well. He takes Satoshi’s hand. “Come,” he says. “You don’t need your suitcase.”
Satoshi looks down at their hands for a second, then he follows, his fingers wrapped around Nino’s hand surprisingly tight. Nino is glad that he doesn’t need to give any more explanations. When the door to his own room snaps close, he grabs Satoshi’s hips and pushes him against the wall. Satoshi gasps in surprise and when Nino’s fingers start to explore the soft skin beneath his shirt, his head drops to the side a bit, exposing his sweet neck. And Nino decides not to waste any more time and just dive into the sweet exposed skin, kissing and sucking on it. He doesn’t mind if he leaves marks or not – there is make-up, hello! With his free hand, he starts unbuttoning Satoshi’s shirt, not paying attention if he rips off some buttons. He doesn’t need any clothes for the following days anyway.
Before he can move down to lower regions though, his hands already working down Satoshi’s pants, Satoshi cups his chin and forces him to stand up. For a tiny second, Nino is uncertain – maybe Satoshi doesn’t want him, at all! Maybe he has neglected him too much, maybe he has for once missed to read the real signs and… – but then he looks into glassy eyes, clouded with want, and sees the slightly parted lips. Satoshi points at his lips, and Nino chuckles. How could he forget to start with a kiss? He leans forward a bit, hand curled around Satoshi’s neck, before he kisses him, giving him exactly the sweet and loving kiss he deserves.
~~~

It’s later that they are lying in Nino’s bed, Satoshi’s head resting on Nino’s stomach while the latter brushes through his hair softly.

“You are not surprised or shocked or anything?” Nino asks carefully, almost feeling guilty for jumping on his friend out of the blue just to make him officially his. Without any confession or explanation! And he is also feeling a bit guilty for leading his other two friends on like that – it was almost a step too far. Almost. He needs to do some explaining later, seriously.

“Not really. I expected it. You know, Jun said you would do something like that,” Satoshi mumbles into Nino’s stomach.

Nino’s head basically snaps up, all ideas about explaining anything flying out of the window. “What? What did J say?”

“Before we went on this short trip, he said something along the words that he has had it with all the cat-and-mouse game and the neglecting of you two workaholics. He was on a half an hour rant about Sho, and all the excuses he always makes and how he needs time to think about them together. And that you two never know what you actually want. And that he is going to appeal to yours and Sho’s baser human instincts. Otherwise, you would never act.” Satoshi shrugs and places a few kisses on Nino’s stomach. “He said he has a plan, but I didn’t quite get what he meant with that. He didn’t fill me into his plan. Did it work?”

“Seems so,” Nino says warily. At this point, Nino decides that he probably shouldn’t go into any more details of any plans Jun or he himself might have followed. He is pretty sure that Jun won’t tell Sho any more either. Though he takes a wild guess that Satoshi has a pretty good idea himself. He really needs to toast to Jun later on for pushing Sho into a commitment, and he is sure Jun will toast to him too for helping indirectly and for getting what he wanted himself – namely Satoshi.

“So,” Nino frowns. One last question that bothers him. “Who did trick who now?”

Satoshi laughs and his body vibrates against Nino’s in a sweet way. “Probably it was an unknown mutual happening. But, does it matter?”

Nino smiles, finger wandering over Satoshi’s cheek and up through his thick beautiful hair. No, it doesn’t, he thinks, when he cups Satoshi’s chin and signals him to move up to be able to kiss him over and over again. Whoever tricked who - it doesn’t matter, he decides. The outcome does.
