Title: Handcraft
Pairing: AibaKame
Rating: PG
Beta:
ivenclaire
Genre: light-hearted, romance
Summary: Kame knits a sarf. Or rather: he tries to knit one.
Notes: Requested by
yukitsubute.
Kame knits a scarf. He tried to make a sweater first, but failed miserably. Then he decided that maybe, maybe, Aiba would be happier with the gloves – pretty gloves with cat ears and a cat’s face. Then however, as the pattern was a bit too difficult, he went for simple gloves. Unfortunately, he has missed several rows and the place for the fingers became too small. So, he dropped the gloves and went for socks. Simple ones, just out of several colours, but the outcome was even worse. So, a wool cap! Anyone could do a wool cap, right? Unfortunately, Kame was apparently unique, and not everyone.
The scarf is seriously his last straw!
Kame is a man with many talents. He can dance, sing, cook, do calligraphy, play baseball, be confident on TV, even pottery is fine! However, knitting unfortunately isn’t one of his many talents.
“Kazuya-kun?”
When Kame hears Aiba’s voice right behind him, he almost jumps in shock. Is it that late already? When did Aiba drop by?
“You left your apartment unlocked,” Aiba explains, sitting down next to Kame and snuggling against him. “And you didn’t hear my ringing and knocking.” He giggles. “What are you doing?” When he sees the messy scarf in Kame’s hands, his eyes beam. “Is that for me!?”
“Just an experiment,” Kame stutters. And. “You weren’t supposed to see it! I was trying to make something special for your birthday.”
“It’s so pretty,” Aiba exclaims happily before he gets up to prepare some coffee.
Poor guy, Kame thinks, he must have lost his mind and his good taste. He probably went shopping with Sho aka fashion emergency guy number 1 and got kinda infected too. Really. The scarf is a mess, the colours not chosen correctly, the strength of the loops wrong, some even fell.
Then however Aiba turns around again. “Please,” he begs. “Finish it.”
Seriously? Kame wants to ask, but when he sees the happy gleam in Aiba’s eyes, he just smiles. And nods.
