Title: Pastries
Pairing: RyoPi
Rating: PG-13
Beta:
ivenclaire
Genre: slice of life, romance
Summary: Some things change. Some stay as they are.
Notes: Requested by
sodigirl1980.
A lot of things changed throughout the year. Friends, work, things he enjoys, the way he sees life and his career, even family changed. People close to him married, family members grew up, married, changed their lives. Many things are different now from a few years ago.
Some things stayed the same though.
When he comes home, the smell of sugar and spices lies in the air, lingers in the house. Cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla, and there is even a slight scent of rum. Pi curls his nose. Smells nice. He follows the scent immediately, ignoring the mess in the living room as there are several sheets with notes lying around and two guitars. One of them seems to be new.
The sweet scent leads him to the kitchen. There are several baking treys on the kitchen table. Rum truffles, it seems, gingerbread, and some traditional macha snowball cookies. Ryo likes to keep some things traditional, even though nothing about Christmas is actually traditional here. Now he is bent over a tray of cookies, a frown of highest concentration on his face as he puts colourful sprinkles on some of the cookies.
“Looks good,” Pi bends forward. Pistachio-chocolate cookies. “My favourites,” he exclaims.
“Ah,” Ryo interrupts him before he can take one of the delicious looking cookies. He places a quick peck on Pi’s lips. “They are for later.”
“Can’t I try one?”
Ryo grins. “They aren’t finished yet. The chocolate frosting is still missing. And I made a colourful sugar frosting too.”
Pi wraps his arms around Ryo’s waist, leaning his chin against his shoulder. “Please,” he mock-whines, tickling Ryo with his fingers. “Please~”
Ryo giggles, then he takes one of the cookies and shoves it into Pi’s mouth. “Happy now?”
Pi chuckles. “Tasthsgud,” he mumbles while eating them.
Ryo smiles, one of these wide-teethed smiles only he can smile. And Pi loves it so much, even more than any perfect cookie Ryo would bake.
