Sho really went a long way, right? I think he probably had the hugest development. To imagine he was so tense and earnest and strict with everyone at the beginning, and now he can be all relaxed and nice ^^
I guess you are right, Masaki just does these things without realizing how important it is what he does and how helpful he actually is. Finally he got rewarded :D
