Jun looks at his list. He has written down all his friends‘, bandmates‘ and family members‘ names neatly, and directly next to their names he wrote down his gift ideas for them. He had some pretty good ideas this year, and it was surprisingly easy to come up with presents for some of the people he normally has difficulties finding presents for. His bandmates were the simplest to find presents for this year. He coincidentally overheard Aiba rambling about a sweater he didn’t know how to order online. So Jun bought it immediately. He stumbled over a videogame store with Nino who was basically raving over a few things but then grumpily decided to save money and not buy anything. Sho was constantly complaining about his tired eyes and body – Jun got him the perfect healthcare set.

He has all the presents. Each and everyone. Except for one… He doesn’t know why it’s so hard this year to come up with a present for Ohno. He normally has no troubles finding one. But this year… it’s unbelievably and ridiculously hard! Sometimes he sees something and thinks it’s perfect, then however it doesn’t feel good enough or special enough.

Why is this so fucking hard this year!??

At the end of his ideas and creativity he decides to ask Ohno directly. “Ohno-san,” he says when they have a quiet moment together. “Is there anything you wish for Christmas?”

Ohno shows him a smile. “You don’t need to give me anything.”

Typical answer Jun hates! He never understood it – when you ask someone, what they like, ‘nothing’ is not the answer you are waiting for! “And aside of nothing?”

“Jun-kun,” Ohno chuckles. “I will like everything you’ll give me.” Next bad answer. Jun sighs. His frustration had to show, because Ohno smiles fondly. “Really, Jun-kun, I will like it because you chose it for me. Okay?”

NO! Not okay!

The next days he spends with working and searching for a present. He looks online, goes to different shops and even asks friends. It has to be something good. It’s Ohno. And his present for Ohno has to be special.

“Why is this so important?” Nino asks flabbergasted. “Just give him a fishing hat, and he will be happy! I’m getting him tissues with fish printed on. He is the easiest to make happy with a present.”

“But I want to get something special,” Jun argues.

Nino throws him a long glance. “Why?” he finally asks.

Jun blinks in surprise. “What do you mean?”

“Why is it so important?” Nino’s voice is soft all of a sudden. “J, find the answer to this question and it’s going to be a lot easier for you to find a good present.”

Jun has narrowed it down to ten different presents, although he is still not happy, when he walks down the corridor, pondering over his choices. He didn’t mean to eavesdrop, really not, but when he bends down to tie the shoe laces of his right shoe, he suddenly hears Aiba and Ohno talking. Aiba asks Ohno about what he wishes for Christmas.

“I want to give you something you like,” Aiba insists. “I asked all the others too. I’m bad with coming up with presents on my own, you know that.”

“Well…” Ohno’s voice can be heard clearly. “I have wanted one of these pans for months now. The ones where you can slow cook in and…”

Jun’s head snaps up. What the heck!? Why does Aiba get an answer from Ohno and he doesn’t!? Jun feels unreasonably disappointed all of a sudden.

When Aiba leaves, Jun approaches Ohno immediately. “Why!?” he huffs. “Why didn’t you tell me you would like a slow cooker! I would have gotten you one!”

Ohno looks at him in surprise. “I didn’t know you wanted to give me a slow cooker.”

“I want to buy something you will love!” Jun blurts out. “Something special. Something you wish for! Why did you answer to Aiba-kun’s question but not to mine?”

“But Jun-kun, I don’t want a slow cooker from you,” Ohno states.

Jun begins to feel angry. “Is this some sort of prank I’m not getting?” he huffs, already turning around to leave. “If it is, tell whoever is involved to-“

Ohno grabs his wrist before he can leave. “It’s not a prank and not a joke. I don’t want a slow cooker from you. I want you

Jun stops, heart stopping a beat. “What did you say?” he asks carefully, turning around to look at Ohno.

Ohno’s eyes are wide opened, he obviously is shocked by his own blunt words. The tips of his ears are red. “You heard what I said,” he mumbles.

“If this is a joke, I swear I’m never going to talk to you again,” Jun says after a while, his throat feeling dry. This is like an outer-body experience. It can’t be true. He fancied Ohno for so long, admired him so much that it took him a while to realize that admiration turned into more. Feelings. He can be disappointed by a lot of people and get over it, but not when it’s Ohno.

“It’s not a joke,” Ohno says quietly. “I would never joke about something like that. That’s why I had no answer to your question about my Christmas wish. Because you can never give it to me.”

“Why do you think I can’t?”

Ohno blinks, staring at Jun in disbelief. “Jun-kun, if this is a joke-“

“You are stealing my words,” Jun complains with a smile.

Ohno tugs at his wrist until Jun is in front of him.

“Ah,” Jun stops before Ohno can kiss him, wrapping his arms around his neck to pull him into a hug instead. “Wait for Christmas,” he whispers, smiling when he can feel a smirk against his neck. “I’m your present after all~”
