Genre: AU, romance, bit angst (like in every

Summary:
Being a privileged boy out of a rich family doesn’t mean you get more love. Kame knows that just too well. All day long he fights against this monster called loneliness, until a new boy joins his class. He is coming out of a different background and just as lonely as he is.
Kame fights against the feelings that are awakening inside him, not able to trust anyone around him. But then he starts to get strange anonymous messages, his heart warming up towards a person he doesn’t even know…and to this strange boy in his class.
Dedicated to: sweetspicyhot. As a belated birthday present! I really really hope you will like this, my friend!

“Where have you been, son!?”

Kame blinked in surprise when he stepped into his living room and found his father looking at him with an expression that one could call worried.

“Sorry,” he stuttered in surprise. “I… helped another boy from school.”

“Oh.” His father looked relieved, then he smiled a bit. “I’m glad. I was worried when you weren’t at home when I returned.” He paused. “Another boy you say?”

Kame nodded his head. “Bullies,” he explained against his own intentions. He hadn’t planned to tell his father, not at all, but somehow he was still feeling so angry.

His father smiled. “So you really helped someone?” he patted Kame’s shoulder. “I’m so proud of you.”

Kame stared at his father in surprise when the latter patted his shoulder once more before he left into his workroom. This was rare, really rare, and Kame had no idea at all how to feel about this here.

He sighed a bit, wondering what to do now. But it was late and he was too tired, too exhausted and too confused to go for a walk now. Besides that… for the first time ever, he was pretty sure that his father would scold him if he went out again tonight.

Kame smiled warily, walking into the kitchen and sitting down on the kitchen table, his feet dangling against the chair. He angled for the bowl with sweets, nibbling at one of the chocolate candies. It tasted sweet… sweet like Ryo… Not that he had tasted anything of Ryo till now, but he was sure he would taste sweet.

Kame coughed, blushing at these embarrassing thoughts. What the heck was he thinking here? He hid his face behind his hands, rubbing over his cheeks in confusion, trying to shove these thoughts away.

But he couldn’t help it, he could still feel Ryo in his arms, and his shaking body, his little sobs echoing in his ear. The feeling of his hair against his nose…

“What are you doing here?” Kame’s father interrupted his thoughts, sounding something between amused and surprised.

Kame blinked. He hadn’t realized how someone came to the room. “Nothing…” he stuttered.

The man shook his head. “You are a bit strange recently…”

Kame blushed even more, jumping down from the desk. “I’m not,” he grumbled.

His father blinked. “Since when are you acting like a grumpy teenager?” He grinned. “I’m actually feeling relieved now.” He chuckled when Kame glared at him and left him alone in the kitchen.

"Hey,” Yoko sat down next to Ryo. “Feeling better?”

Ryo forced a smile to his lips. “I’m okay.”

Yoko sighed a bit. “I’m sorry,” he mumbled sadly. He patted Ryo’s head, before he pressed a small towel with ice cubes against Ryo’s cheek. “Here, use that. Otherwise your face might get swollen.” He smiled warmly, his fingers brushing through Ryo’s hair. “I’m so sorry for this.”

“Why?” Ryo sighed almost contently when the cold feeling of the ice got through to his skin and made him calm down.

“Because there are always people who think they are better than others.” Yoko explained carefully. “But truth is, they aren’t better at all. They know it, they feel worthless and low and hence they go against others.”

Ryo stayed quiet for a moment. “I know.”

“You know Ryo-chan,” Yoko continued. “There is nothing to be ashamed of…”

“I know,” Ryo answered half-heartedly.

Yoko stayed quiet for a moment, then he took Ryo’s hand into his. “Do you want to know what I think? A person’s worth cannot be measured and no one else can tell us how worthy we are. Because we are just as good and gorgeous as we see ourselves! Always think of you as something worthy, okay?”

Ryo blinked at Yoko’s words, then he smiled slightly. “I will try to.”

Yoko sighed, then he tousled Ryo’s hair playfully. “Really… one can’t let you alone for a minute.”

“Eh?” Ryo frowned slightly. “That’s not true!”

Yoko grinned contently, glad about Ryo’s change of mood. “It for sure is,” he laughed, hugging Ryo out of the blue. “You are my favourite little one. Without you the world would be totally empty.”

“You are cheesy.” Ryo complained. “And I’m not little. You are just too tall!"

Yoko smiled sympathetically, ignoring Ryo’s words. Much to Ryo’s annoyance he was lost in his own world right now. “But you are my almost-brother, so I have to be cheesy.”

“Whatever…”

“And this Kamenashi-kun is nice too… maybe he could watch out for you?”

“No,” Ryo called out, but couldn’t help a blush crawling over his cheeks.

Yoko grinned knowingly, but didn’t say anything else. He just leaned back a bit, patting Ryo’s shoulder a bit. “Let’s go and eat something.”

Kame curled up his nose when he walked along the beach, shivering a bit in the cold. No matter how warm his jacket was, it was always cold here. He shook his head, moving his arms to warm up. Then he stiffened his shoulders to hurry and reach the cottage. With a sigh of relief he reached it, feeling warm immediately when he closed the door behind him. This time, before he did anything else, he hurried to the book, opening it nervously.

Yes…Maybe there is one person worth it.

Kame smiled in relief, taking a pen and scribbling an answer.

See, I told you. Someone would cry… Maybe I would cry too! Who knows?

Kame felt almost light and cheerful when he left the cottage that day. He smiled, running back over the beach to not be in the cold too long. When he passed the dormitory of the orphanage, he paused, his heart jumping slightly. His feet were trembling, his lips tensing up into a strained smile. Should he? Shouldn’t he?

He took a deep breath. This was ridiculous. Ryo had been a mess yesterday, so it was just his responsibility to check on him and see if he was alright again.

“Ah.” Yoko turned around when he realized his presence, smiling. “Kamenashi-kun!”

Kame bowed politely. “Sorry for bothering you on a Sunday afternoon.”

“Don’t worry.” The older one smiled brightly. “You can drop by whenever you want!”

Kame blushed slightly at Yoko’s nice words, then he looked around shyly. “Is…Ryo-kun here?” he asked, trying to sound as random as possible.

Yoko had to hide a grin, forcing polite smile to his lips. “Ah, he always goes on a walk on Sundays. But he will be home soon. He knows I’ll rip his head off if he stays out too late.”

Kame chuckled. “He needs someone protective, right?”

“Totally,” Yoko laughed. “He hates it though.” He shifted around, checking the area as if he was afraid that Ryo would hear them. “Listen Kamenashi-kun, I know I’m asking a lot from you, but… could you watch out for Ryo a bit? He is often lonely and sad, I want him to smile a bit more…”

Kame’s heart jumped at that request, a slight flush crawling over his cheeks. Then he nodded his head. “Of course I will watch out for him. If he lets me to.”

“I’m sure he will.” Yoko smiled.

Kame felt nervous when he saw Yoko’s knowing smile. He wasn’t sure what to say or do now, but to his relief Yoko immediately realized his uneasiness. “Don’t worry, Kamenashi-kun. You can wait here for him, okay?”

Kame smiled thankfully, wandering around the house a bit. It was a beautiful area, the beach was close but not right next to the house, so that it was still safe. When the sun was shining one could see the ocean sparkling a bit.

It suddenly came to Kame’s mind that he actually liked the ocean a lot. It was beautiful in a rough way.

Here I am :D

Thank you for the update. It came at exactly the right time. I think you must know how much that means to me.

I am glad for the interaction between Kame and his father. My parents' actions were often a mystery to me and I see that Kame is sharing in that feeling. But to Kame's father it must seem that Kame is interacting with the world more. It is strange what impresses parents, sometimes I feel like they just want to see their children be self sustaining.

Yoko and Ryo--my favorite line of the chapter is "without you the world would be totally empty." Sometimes i think that Yoko needs Ryo more or just as much as Ryo needs Yoko.

And Kame he is getting bold--going back to the orphanage. Yoko asking him to look after Ryo was sweet--as if Kame can stop himself now. I like the contrast--Kame looking at the ocean in this chapter as compared to the beginning.

I think what I like best so far is that for Kame and Ryo, this is about the two of them learning how to trust themselves, even as they learn to break down their walls as they reach out for each other.

I love it so much. Thanks again for this. Hugs to you my friend, :D

hi i'm here again cause i'm definitely finishing up all your updates tonight so i can request for the next update for this awesome fic.

okay. so you have to know that even though all their interactions have been melancholic to date, i love the fact that in some way, ryo has made this effect on kame that is positive. i think for now on, kame's feeling a bit warmed and he's also appreciating the little things, the little attention that he's father is giving him. well, it's actually even better if the relationship is indeed improving, right? happy for everyone! :)

yokoryo is so sweet and cute and all kinds of fluffy., i would love to have a brother like yoko. he's really concerned about ryo and his well being. that's why even though ryo's really closed and guarded, he manages to see through him. i'm glad that even though yoko's really dramatic, he doesn't excatly push ryo to spill things. he's still considerate and all. it's just great :)

the conversations on the notebook, i wonder how long they will last and how deep their talks would be. also, how they are going to discover each other's identity.

kame's really thoughtful. i think ryo really made an impact on him. and he's keeping his words, isn't he? now he wants to look after him even on weekends :D it's cute. :D

thanks for this chapter! i can't wait to read the next!

Here I am. <3 Sorry for taking so long.

Kame is sooooo incredible sweet. I totally love how embarassed he is, and how much he already is in love. *lol* He really tries to get closer to Ryo, that's so cute. <3

I love the part where he thinks about how he lied next to him. <3

Yoko is sooo cool, I am glad that he wants Kame to care about Ryo, that's so brother like. ^^ He really loves Ryo a lot, right? Not as a lover, but like a brother or a son. <3

Ryo is such a closed character, I hope he can open up a bit now. Maybe Kame breaks through the walls around him. <3

Poor Ryo, but it seems he has a family with Yoko and he will get the cutest lover ever. :P

Maybe Kame wants someone he can care about?! And on the other side I am sure Ryo will care a lot about Kame. <3 I am really looking forward to the point where they get together. <3

Thanks for this chapter, I totally love this story. <3

*hugs*

So good, Kame's dad showed some interest towards his son - maybe they will communicate better now?

Can't wait for the next chapter - I really like Yoko :-)

Thank you for the update.. I really was waiting for it eagerly
\(^O^)/

You save my day.. I was exhausted and feeling blue but when I found your update it changed my feeling completely, oh~ this story calmed me down & warmed my heart, That I could fall asleep well later on ^__^

With your impressive description you can bring the whole picture to us, that we can experience every single thing & emotion the characters are going through, even in the scenes that has no dialogue, I really love that in your work ♥

I still remember how I felt cold and lonely like “Kame” in the beginning of chapter 1 on the beach and how that changed when he found the fisher house, Also Ryo with his silence and keeping all of his feelings & pain inside his heart , that I interacted very well with their feelings.

I’m so excited about the notes “Kame” left & received in that house..

How lovely when he finds some place he can open up his heart in without worrying about people seeing what he wrote or express.. It’s like thoughts transferring between two worlds without limits, and without the usual frames people are using to interact with each other

Aaaaaaaaaah ~ this line:
““You are my favorite little one. Without you the world would be totally empty.

Is amazing.. it captivated my heart from the first sight.. it’s so pure

Quote:
He angled for the bowl with sweets, nibbling at one of the chocolate candies. It tasted sweet… sweet like Ryo… Not that he had tasted anything of Ryo till now, but he was sure he would taste sweet.

Kyaaaaaaaaa ~ I’m blushing here ^0^

When his father expressed his caring after all that time, it made me feel sad for “Kame” when he was surprised and not knowing how he should deal with it … however he told him what happened in his day Spontaneously..

He really needs his papa & mama’s care and love..

Hope he & Ryo can find in each other what they are missing in their lives

Thank you again.. I will be waiting for the next update (^0^)
