The Odyssey of Ohno Satoshi (Juntoshi) Part 2/2

“Where the hell are we?” Aiba was leaning over the guardrail, looking down into the sea. The water carried them through aisles, some of them wide, some of them so small that they wondered if their ship would have enough place. Sometimes the water was darker, sometimes lighter. Weird maelstroms everywhere, strange sounds coming from the walls. It was intimidating and depressing, all of them nervous by the nerve-wracking atmosphere. Though they weren’t fighting, the atmosphere was tensed. And it didn’t help much that Jun and Sho were still hardly talking to each other. “What’s this place?” Aiba repeated, bending forward even more.

“GO AWAY!” Jun yelled out of a sudden, grabbing Aiba’s shoulder and pulling him back, so that he dropped to the ground.

“What…” the words got stuck in Ohno’s throat when he saw what had caught Jun’s attention. A hand out of bones, a skeleton’s hand was moving over the guardrail, reaching out for Aiba… and Jun. Jun was hovering over Aiba, pushing him away, so that he was safe, while the hand was already tugging at his trousers. Before anyone else could do anything, Ohno grabbed one of the swords lying around, hitting the hand with it, until it let go of Jun and disappeared into the dark sea.

Nino was the first one to regather his voice. “What… was…that!?”

It was silent, none of them knowing the answer. Sho was hovering over his books since days now, a worried expression on his face. But after the incident with Jun and Aiba, his expression grew even more tensed. He grabbed Jun’s hand in despair. “Are you alright!?”

Jun shifted around a bit. “Yes…” he answered warily.

For a moment they all blinked, then Aiba and Nino started to giggle, while Ohno grinned. Despite the nerve-wracking atmosphere, they just had to let out their relief. “Finally you talked,” Ohno snorted, while Jun and Sho were looking at him in surprise. “It’s really been a surprise…”

“What?” Sho finally asked.

“Nothing, but the eagle is not only stubborn but also proud,” Ohno joked, making the other two giggle even more, while Jun blushed slightly. “Leaves just the question which sign you are, Sho.”

“Oh,” Sho huffed. “You...”

Jun coughed slightly, shifting around nervously whenever Ohno smiled at him. “So,” he changed the topic swiftly. “Did you find out where we are, Sho?”

The worried expression was back on Sho’s face, stopping the giggle and the light atmosphere immediately. It was not a good expression, nothing soothing. Sho hadn’t even looked that troubled when they were chased by the octopus. “The catacombs of the ocean.”

“But,” Aiba shook his head. “Catacombs means that there had to be prisoners, people who were kept here and died.” He paused, suddenly growing pale.

“Exactly,” Sho mumbled.

“And they are still here…” Ohno looked around in horror. Ghosts of the deceased hunting them?

“Well, we can try and fight them back, right?” Nino asked nervously.

“Yes and no.” Sho sat down, brushing through his hair nervously. “If we get too deep into the labyrinth we are doomed. We can’t fight thousands of skeletons and ghosts. And what’s even worse… there is only one way out.”

What it means to be in the catacombs of the ocean:

    1) Time was running away
    2) Jun was getting weaker. Sleeping a lot.
    3) Aiba was in a bad mood.
    4) Nino was spending his time fighting skeleton hands.
    5) Sho had no idea where they were.
    6) Jun was looking pretty when he was asleep…
    7) His long eyelashes fluttering when it was windy
    8) In his sleep he had reached out for Ohno’s hand
    9) Jun and the others were mysterious human-like creatures, who were coming from a land under the sea.
    10) They needed to go back as fast as possible to save Jun, but they were stuck in the catacombs.
    11) The only food they had were beans and dried fish.
    12) Jun and the others were coming from a land which Ohno didn’t even dare to speak out loud. He was afraid of waking up from this dream.
    13) Jun needed to go back, but… when he was back, what would happen to Ohno?
    14) Ohno was a mysterious creature himself, was he? Or wasn’t he? Sho had told him to find out the answer himself, this arrogant idiot.
    15) Ohno was also feeling tired recently, but not as much as Jun. What did that mean?
    16) The deeper they came, the more skeleton hands were reaching out for them.
    17) At least Cucumber had lots of bones to eat and wasn’t feeling hungry anymore.

“Why did you leave?” Ohno was joining Jun with his dinner. They were sitting far away from the guardrail, so that no hands or other horrible things would reach them.

Jun smiled slightly, apparently knowing what Ohno wanted to know. “My home?”

“Yes. If it’s so dangerous for you… well…” Ohno shrugged. “It wasn’t meant to be a criticism.”

“It’s okay,” Jun chuckled. “You know, I was a young guy, still a kid, when a man and his crew suddenly landed in…well…”

“Atlantis?”

“If you want to, you can call it like that, yes. They landed there by accident. They were fighting against a sea monster, saving a young mermaid. Since many of them got hurt during this fight, the mermaid felt obliged to help them. To show them her sincere gratitude. She brought them to us. This man, the captain, he was a young, good-looking guy. But not only that, he had something…special. There was something about his person, people loved and trusted him immediately. He was calm and didn’t talk much, but still…there was this special aura. He was quite similar to you. When I saw him and heard his stories, I knew that I wanted to encounter this life too. That’s why I left. Sho, my older brother, didn’t want to leave me alone, he followed me. We’ve always been close, though we fight most of the time. It was then that I realized how much he loved me. And Aiba and Nino… they were our friends since we were kids. They wouldn’t leave us alone.”

“And your father?”

“Hated the idea. He was furious. Though deep down I know that he understood. Many years ago, he did the same, before he came back and became king.”

Ohno nodded his head, trying to stay calm while his heart was hammering against his chest like madly. This sounded exactly like one of the stories his grandfather was telling him about. At this point Ohno didn’t know it anymore… what was real, what a dream?

He was calm and didn’t talk much, but still…there was this special aura. He was quite similar to you. If Jun was talking about his grandfather here… why would he compare him to him? Ohno was surprised to hear how Jun was seeing him. He resembled his grandfather? Something inside Ohno’s stomach jumped in delight. He was like his grandfather, the man he had always admired the most.

“We need to decide” There was clear panic in Sho’s voice. “We can’t sail around half-heartedly and hope to find the right way somehow. It doesn’t work like that. We need a plan, we need to decide!” His gaze shifted towards Ohno and Jun. Jun was sleeping, his head resting in Ohno’s lap. “We need to find our way out of this. SOON!”

“I made a map. Well, not really a map, more like a sketch.” Ohno answered. “With every way we chose and every one we left out.” He angled for some sheets of paper. Lots of lines were scribbled down there. Ohno had marked the way they had taken, and also noted where they passed a crossroad.

Sho’s eyes widened. “Satoshi… this is… this might save us!”

“You are the best,” Jun mumbled against Ohno’s stomach silently. His warm breath tickling Ohno’s skin, sending goosebumps over his arms. “I was lucky that I met you.”

“HEY JUN!” Sho raised his voice, clearly aggravated again. “If you continue to talk in the past, I swear, I will beat you up!” His voice was loud and angry, but this time none of the others spoke against him.

“Yes,” Jun nodded his head. “You are right, I’m sorry.”

“Apparently the eagle is also smart,” Ohno mused.

“Oh, shut up!”

Ohno grinned.

Ohno’s map was a simple one of course, naturally, since he had no starting point or any indication at all. But still it was like a huge step forward for them to have something in their hands. And Sho kept hovering over his books for the next days. He had a real map of the labyrinth, but he needed to fit Ohno’s map with it first before they could do something.

Meanwhile the others kept their ship steady and on a slower pace. There was no need in rushing into the labyrinth before Sho had actually solved the riddle.

Ohno was helping Sho sometimes. Next to Jun he knew the most about the sea and the ship. The rest of the day he was spending at Jun’s side.

Nino and Aiba were keeping the skeletons away from them. Nino frowned when he saw how Aiba was stomping on a skeleton hand, yelling at it madly. The slighter man shook his head. “We really need to get out of here. Someone is losing his mind…”

Sho had found the way, thanks to Ohno’s map and the one he had found in his book. Just a few parts of the map were missing, giving Sho a headache. He hoped that their instincts would lead them into the right direction then.

“You are looking better,” Ohno sounded surprised and happy.

Jun chuckled. “Yes, I’m feeling how we are getting closer at home.” He stood up, stretching a bit, revealing his beautiful body.

Ohno still thought that Jun’s body should wear a warning: Attention: Hot. “Want to go on deck?”

“Yeah.”

Ohno was about to leave the room, when he suddenly felt to hands grabbing his shoulders and pulling him back. Then, suddenly, warm lips were kissing him. Ohno was surprised first, then he smiled slightly, wrapping his arms around Jun’s waist and pulling him closer, kissing him back hungrily.

When they drew apart Jun’s cheeks were flushed in a beautiful light red. “I told you,” he smiled. “I’m lucky that I met you.”

If you kiss the prince of Atlantis, this is what happens:

    1) His brother wants to hate you
    2) But can’t, because you just saved the whole crews’ ass.
    3) Aiba keeps jumping and squealing whenever he sees you, giggling and calling out things like ‘you are so cute’ towards you.
    4) Nino demands a cake and is annoyed that there is none around.
    5) Cucumber suddenly adopts you and thinks you are his new daddy.
    6) Jun’s body seems to be even hotter now.
    7) Yeah, and damn, you just kissed the prince. What a good feeling!

Ohno grinned proudly. Now, besides his romantic feelings towards Jun, he couldn’t help another thought: Hell, what would his grandfather say to that!? He totally beat him and his stories here.

Ohno’s hips were grinding against Jun’s, his lips moving over his neck. “We can’t do it here,” Jun argued, though still sounding breathless.

“I know,” Ohno smiled. “I’m just trying to get the feeling of how it might be once we actually can do it.”

“Oh, I see.” Jun smirked out of a sudden, grabbing Ohno’s hips and pushing him on his bed. Then he straddled his hips, bending down to kiss him hungrily, hips grinding against Ohno’s. He chuckled proudly when he got up. “This is how it might feel.”

“Yeah,” Ohno grumbled. “The eagle better watch out or the cheetah might not care about things like ‘we can’t do it here’.”

“Uh,” Jun joked. “It’s getting dirty.”

~~~~~
“We are sitting here and waiting…” Aiba sang into the night sky. He felt bored and had joined Sho and Nino on deck to get some distraction. Nino was watching out for their enemies while Sho was still working on the map.
“Sorry, Aiba-chan,” Sho smiled slightly. “I know it’s quite hard to wait.”
“No,” Aiba shook his head. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it like that. It’s not your fault. It’s just…” he paused out of a sudden, eyes widened, his throat suddenly feeling dry.
“What!?” Sho was appalled immediately.
Nino shook his head when Aiba didn’t answer, before he hurried to Aiba’s side. What he saw there, made him draw back in shock. His body felt numb out of a sudden, his eyes that wide open that they were getting teary. He could feel how his knees were shaking without him having control over it. “My God,” he breathed out. “please stay at our side.”
“Good,” Jun leaned back while he felt Ohno’s fingers on his stomach, wandering up his chest. He smiled when Ohno pulled him into a tender kiss. He was about to deepen it when he heard voices and screams outside.
A few seconds later Aiba’s voice could be heard next to his room. “JUN! OH-CHAN! Please, come…” He was panting heavily, his voice shaking in a way that made Jun flinch uncomfortably. He was up immediately, Ohno right behind him.
With a swift movement he opened the door. “What happened?”
“Up there…” Aiba’s face was so pale that he looked almost like a ghost. His hands were shaking, his teeth gritted. Jun shoved him aside in panic, hurrying upside. Did something happen to Sho or Nino?
When he reached the deck, he could see how the other two were preparing the sails as fast as possible. Their eyes pinned to something behind the ship. Jun hurried to the guardrail, bending forward to see through the night. He needed a moment for his eyes to get used to the dark light. He frowned slightly, squeezing his eyes, then he gasped in shock, dropping away immediately.
Tons of skeletons behind them. An army. Apparently they had waited too long…
Jun only needed a moment to gather his senses, then he was at his brother’s and friend’s side immediately. He could see how Ohno was already working hard as well. Jun was glad to have him next to him, there was something about him that made everyone calmer and lessened every tension and panic.
“Let’s get the ship moving,” Jun ordered. “Nino, I’ll need you downstairs with Aiba. If they come from one of the windows, we need someone to fight them.”
“Understood,” Nino nodded his head, already running downstairs.
“Satoshi, please watch out for the sail and for these ghosts behind us. If they come too close, fight them with fire.”
“Fire?” Ohno blinked in confusion. “We don’t have enough fire to…” His words got basically stuck in in throat when he saw how Jun was suddenly approaching him, his whole body glowing. He had turned into this mysterious creature again. Ohno smiled, reaching out his hand and when he let go again, he was holding the fire in his own hands, using his own mysterious power for it.
Sho sighed. “Great…”
“Well,” Ohno smiled slightly. “Since we are already in such a situation, we can as well take advantage of our powers, can’t we?”
Sho frowned. “You two really fit together,” he grumbled. “That’s exactly the kind of logic Jun would be using. But don’t forget that the powers we have are natural ones. Elemental ones, like control over fire, water, earth and air. They are not powers we can use to fight something. Well, we can, but they aren’t that strong to fight back these guys.”
“I know,” Jun patted Sho’s arm. “But it gives us some time.”
“Yes,” Sho agreed half-heartedly, obviously annoyed that Jun was right. “So? Your plan?”
“Nothing, we’ll just escape.” Jun looked around. “Satoshi will try to keep these guys away from us. Nino and Aiba are doing the same downstairs. I’ll navigate the ship…and you need to tell me the way.” He paused. “You do know the way by now, don’t you?”
Sho shifted around, wavering a bit. “Parts of it. But I wasn’t able to decode the whole way.”
“We need to take what we have,” Jun answered calmly, though there was a clear frown on his face.
Ohno nodded his head. “It’s okay,” he reassured them. “Let’s try to outdistance them. Sho knows parts of the right way after all. Let’s take it and see where we will be then. We can still discuss once his map is at its end.” He paused, looking at Jun in worry. “How are you feeling? Maybe we should try to leave you out of this.”
“No.”
“Maybe he is right,” Sho mused. “You could…”
“No,” Jun shook his head. “I can’t. I just can’t.”
“Yes,” Ohno sighed. “I understand that. But I don’t like it.”
“I’m feeling the scent of home,” Jun smiled at him reassuringly. “It makes me stronger.”
Sho’s attention was awakened immediately. “You feel it? Promise?”
“Yes.”
“Then,” Sho’s voice shivered in hope. “not everything is lost.”
An army of skeletons, right behind you, means:
    1) Lots of bones
    2) Even more bones
    3) Strange rattling noises whenever they move
    4) Cucumber barking in excitement about so many bones
    5) Sho coincidentally (yeah, as if!) stomping on Cucumber’s tail.
    6) Cucumber getting mad and jumping at Sho
    7) Sho dropping to the ground and pulling three skeletons with him…
    8) …so that Cucumber had something to bite instead of Sho’s leg.
    9) Jun was bending down to get rid of some ugly skeleton hands…
    10) Ohno had a nice sight on his butt.
Ohno was getting the hang of it: chasing the skeletons away with fire. He tried not to get too distracted by Jun’s beauty right in front of him. He needed to concentrate on his task. If they wouldn’t make it out of here, there weren’t any chances to ever look at Jun’s beauty again.
He smiled slightly when he saw how they were getting farer and farer away from these ugly creatures.
But then, suddenly, the ship stopped.
“And now?” Aiba asked almost silently when he and Nino joined them on deck. They were right in front of a parting of the ways, with 5 possible paths.
“I don’t know,” Sho admitted weakly. “I was only able to decode the map till this point.”
“We have to decide,” Jun interrupted them. “Now. Sho?”
“Okay,” Sho looked around, before he pointed at a way. “This one seems to lead into the same direction we took till now.”
Jun nodded in agreement, before he led the ship into that direction. For a moment everything was going smoothly, until they reached another parting of the ways. Ohno frowned deeply, it was the same as before.
“Is this the same?” Aiba asked carefully.
“Yes,” Sho huffed, annoyed at himself. “Judging by the noise behind us it’s the same way the skeletons are coming from. So…”
“Does this mean, whichever way we take, we’ll land here again?” Nino’s voice sounded unusually hoarse. “That’s…bad.”
Ohno looked around a bit, checking on the paths in front of him and on the noises right behind them. Their enemies were getting closer again. They already had chosen one wrong way, but what if they would choose another wrong way? Then they would land in the middle of the army of skeletons and die a horrible death.
He was totally lost in his thoughts so that he almost missed it. A hand crawling over the floor, right towards Jun. “JUN, GET AWAY!” Ohno jumped forward, hitting the hand with a stick before it could grab Jun’s neck.
“Thanks,” Jun’s voice sounded hoarse. “Thanks Satoshi.”
“This is bad,” Sho mumbled in fear. “We need to be fast! We already took one wrong way, so there are four left. Our chance to get the right one is one to three.”
“Doesn’t sound too good,” Nino mumbled. “It’s almost ridiculous. We all have different signs and charms protecting us, like Sho has his intelligence or Jun has his courage. But none of us is incredibly lucky. We need someone who has always luck to find the right way.”
“We can’t ponder about these things,” Sho mumbled, kicking another skeleton hand before it could grab his leg. “Which way should we choose?”
The others stayed silent, a deep nervous aura engulfing all of them. “Our choice was wrong the last time,” Aiba finally spoke up. “There is no use in discussing this. We need someone to decide. Jun, you are our captain, tell us who it should be to decide on the way?”
Jun frowned, he was obviously fighting with this difficult situation here and with the responsibility that lay in his hands. The scowl on his face made it darker, but not less pretty. “Satoshi,” he put his hand on Ohno’s shoulder. “You led us out of many bad situations. You were always lucky. You decide.”
Ohno grew pale. He was supposed to decide over the fate of four people coming from a decreasing population under the sea – including two princes, himself and a dog, who was the key to this mysterious world called Atlantis? Was Jun insane?
“No,” Jun smiled. “I’m not insane.” He paused, blushing slightly. “You make us feel calm whenever we are about to freak out, we are not fighting when you are around, you make us loose every tension. Maybe this is your gift, your talent? To be a person who can influence others that way… and also yourself. Remember the day you saved Cucumber from drowning?”
“Yeah, but,” Ohno blinked out of a sudden. “Wait, this wasn’t normal? I thought all of you could to it! I mean, you are from Atlantis! The town in the sea.”
“It’s one thing to understand the ocean,” Jun argued. “But it’s another to become part of it and save one, without changing your appearance, like I did when I saved you. It’s your talent. And who knows? Maybe luck is your sign? Just like intelligence is Sho’s.”
Ohno was silent while he listened to Jun’s words. Slowly it began to sink in what the other was telling him. He smiled out of a sudden, it was all so simple, wasn’t it? He shouldn’t make it any more complicated than it was. He looked at the paths in front of them, unusually calm despite the tensed situation. Tons of deceased imprisoners, dark and hungry behind them and only one way out.
He could feel it again, like when he saved Cucumber. Just that this time he knew what he was doing and he knew how to lead his feelings. He hadn’t even realized how much he had learned while being on this ship. But suddenly everything was so simple. His mind was almost flowing, swimming in the water, diving deep into it, until he suddenly raised his head and looked up… into a sky. Not the ceiling of a cave. It was the sky. Fresh air. He smiled slightly, before he led his mind back to his body.
“One of the ways is leading up a bit. There is more light,” Aiba mused. “Maybe we should take this one?”
“No,” Ohno’s voice sounded calm, but firm. “We’ll take the left path.”
“But it’s leading deeper down. And it’s dark.”
Jun looked at Sho and Aiba first, then he turned his gaze towards Ohno. “Satoshi?” he asked and his voice was soft, warmer than usual when there were others around him.
“Trust me.” Ohno’s throat felt dry, but nevertheless he didn’t look away from Jun. “The air feels more fresh in this path. The water itself longs for it,” he explained.
“Alright, then we’ll take the darker one,” Jun spoke up. And as a captain he had the last word. The others followed him.
Ohno had been right.
It was the way out.
~~~~

“These catacombs…” Sho was almost clinging to the guardrail in happiness. “We are out of them.”

“I swear,” Nino mumbled towards Aiba. “If he is going to do a dance now, I’ll throw him into the water.”

Aiba just giggled, apparently taking Nino’s words as what they were: Relief. All of them were taking deep breaths in the fresh air, trying to recover from the weeks they spent in the dark.

“We are out there. We made it. We…” Sho paused out of a sudden, eyes widening in shock when Cucumber barked shortly, rushing away from them and into the water.

Ohno blinked in surprise for a moment, he was about to jump after Cucumber and save him once more when he saw something in the water. There was a gate all of a sudden. Cucumber, the key, had opened it. And with it a well known scent was suddenly engulfing him. The scent of an adventure.

“Well, well…” Aiba giggled. “Cucumber just wanted to take a shortcut through the catacombs.”

“Yeah,” Sho huffed angrily. “That’s the stupidest key out of all! We’ll search for one once we are back.”

“Sho,” Jun chuckled. “It’s not working like that. It’s…”

“FATE! Yes, I know.” Sho grumbled. “Fate, who needs this kind of shit anyway.”

“Uh, he is swearing,” Nino joked. “Better be glad that we made it back in time.”

“This scent,” Ohno mumbled while they were shipping through the gate. He turned around a bit, seeing how it got closed behind him. Then they were engulfed in a white light, something was pulling and tugging at his stomach. It was swirling them around like a maelstrom, but judging by the happy faces of the others, there was nothing wrong. Hence Ohno decided to calm down and enjoy it. He didn’t want to miss the moment once they would finally arrive home or whatever it was to him – he didn’t know it yet, but he just knew that there was no going back. He didn’t want to go back to his old life. This here was his new life and he was very glad to grasp this second chance.

Also, he was looking forward to how Sho would kick Cucumber from their ship once they landed. Or Aiba boasting about how he was able to swim now.

The light and the maelstrom stopped and to Ohno’s surprise they were still on the sea. But when he took a closer look at the water and their surroundings, it was different. Birds he had never seen flying above them, other ships passing them and he was pretty sure that he saw some mermaids swimming right next to them for a moment.

Also the scent was suddenly getting more precise out of a sudden. The scent of adventure. He frowned, walking towards Jun, who was sitting on the guard rail, eyes shining in happiness. Ohno smiled. “You are alright?”

“Never felt better,” Jun’s smile was genuine. He made place for Ohno so that he could sit down next to him. “You should see it. The moment Atlantis will be on the horizon.”

Ohno smiled warmly, realizing how important it was for Jun to show him his home and all the places he loved. “I can’t wait to see it.”

“It’s beautiful,” Jun promised.

“Since my grandfather told me about it, I wanted to see it with my own eyes,” Ohno mused, then a smirk appeared on his face. “Once we landed, can we finally have sex then?” he joked.

“Yeah, sure,” Jun nodded his head earnestly, taking Ohno aback by it. He had believed that Jun would take it as a joke, but apparently Jun was also having a lot of secretive thoughts.

“Why are you laughing?” Jun wanted to know.

“Nothing,” Ohno smiled. “Just realized that there are still lots of things I don’t know about you.”

“Afraid of getting sick of me?”

“I hardly doubt that this would be possible,” Ohno’s fingers were wandering over Jun’s arms, making the latter smile contently. He successfully ignored the daggers Sho sent him with his glances and Aiba’s squealing right behind him.

It was later at night after the others had gone to sleep and Ohno and Jun were still sitting there and watching the peaceful ocean. “Jun,” Ohno looked at the other insistently. “This scent,” he paused, wondering how he should explain it. “I smelled it when I met you and throughout our journey. Now it’s getting more and more, the closer we come to your home.”

“Only people from Atlantis can smell this scent,” Jun suddenly explained. “Or those who have seen Atlantis themselves.”

“But,” Ohno shook his head. “I’ve never been to Atlantis.”

“Yes, but your grandfather has.”

For a moment Ohno looked at Jun in surprise, only nodding his head. He felt it again, this headache. A clear sign that something was lying beneath the surface, something he couldn’t get a grip of. He had never been here and he wasn’t born here, so why could he smell it? Suddenly Ohno paused.

His grandfather… he was never married, was he? His mother was the illegitimate child of his grandfather. And if he counted the years correctly, then the time his mother was born was around the time his grandfather was in…

“I’m part of your country, aren’t I?” Ohno sounded calm, to his own surprise. Though he had only just learned that he was a mysterious being. “That’s why you hired me, because my grandfather was the man you admired. And because his daughter had her origins in Atlantis… and I’m her son.”

“Yes,” Jun answered silently.

“You knew it?”

“Well,” For a moment Jun sounded guilty. “What should I say? You carried the scent of adventure around you. We felt it immediately.”

“Talk about secrets…” Ohno grumbled.

“Sorry.”

“No, it’s okay.” Ohno leaned back, smiling slightly. “It’s good to know that I not only have a future, but also a past.”

He sat up a bit, eyes pinned to the horizon. He didn’t want to miss it, the moment he would see this mysterious country. The moment he would come home. Because by now he knew that it was also his home.

A/N: Writing this was a bit exhausting, but at the same time lots of fun :D I hope you enjoyed reading it too <3
Inspirations for this comes from Moers' brilliant sarcastic humour in "The 13 1/2 lives of Captain Bluebear" and the fact that I've watched way too many pirate/sea/ocean movies, including Ice Age 4. ^_^ The plot is my own of course.

General note: Dear friends and readers! Thanks so much for all your support <3  To thank you I opened up a Request Post. If you feel like requesting a one-shot with a specific pairing or situation you can do so HERE.

AND THEN I FINISHED! FINALLY! /confetti sparkles

1. First of all, I LOVE YOUR BRAINS and the ideas...I said that already? I KNOW, I love it that much :D Arashi in a pirate ship AS PIRATES? Moving island turned giant octopus? SOLD.

2. Second, your sense of humor: Something about Cucumber not being delicious when cooked, Jun and the hotness warning, and a whole other things cracks me up hard XD

3. Third, I love how you put the scenes in list forms and chronologically arranges them (like when there is the time element in the beginning) ♥ It just effectively depicts picture without being wordy. I also loved how you inserted Ohno's observation despite being in danger in those list forms too. It reminds the readers that the whole journey is not just about adventure but the sea adventure but also depicts a love story.

AND THAT'S JUST THE GENERAL PART :D

Individually,

1. Ohno and his sense of adventure and even the surprising revelation
2. Jun and his Queen Matsumoto ship (you don't know how amused I am by this naming) also, Jun as a Prince of Atlantis? SO APPROPRIATE :D
3. Sho and his intelligent self (and even his brother complex which is borderline incest feelings for Jun) it's perfect!
4. Aiba not knowing to swim (and cook, but we already know that) and Nino not feeling seasick in the most important times THANK GOODNESS
5. CUCUMBER! Who is not in the least adorable but is there because he's a damn key! XD

I wish there was...

1. More Aiba and Nino screen time or at least development of characters (but all is understood when I learned that they were from the same...place, for the lack of better word, anyway.

2. A romantic side-pairing! (although its totally not needed) It's just my personal preference XD

On a oh-so-bright side:

This story is something that I couldn't have imagined (and I also didn't know its possible for a fic) so good job on this! People might dismiss it due to length at first but all is well when you started reading.

PLUS: Sexytimez! I generally thought that this should be a PG but it didn't get awkward when it get to that. It's short and they were practically cock-blocked by skeletons and ghosts but it was kjl;ajdfjka; AMAZING

If I may suggest...

If you were planning to expand this world into more (and don't be pressured if you don't want to since I myself hate doing sequels), you could probably center on one of Sho, Aiba or Nino and see the world of adventure through their eyes and more? Or if you just want an accompanying fic, that Juntoshi's interrupted sexy scene continuation would be enough too: set on beautiful Atlantis XD

BUT NO PRESSURE! I love this fic the way it is and would love whatever it is that you will decide (sequel or not) but saw a comment hinting on a sequel and wanted to suggest something. XD

YOU ARE AWESOME. And I am now perpetually scared of fic exchanges now because all I see are good fics. what have I gotten myself into It's that awesome. Keep the crazy ideas coming! ♥

You and your fic deserved it ♥ I'm even touched at the blinking text :) and I realized how much of a creep I am for leaving such a long comment. I apologize to anyone who might find it an inconvenience

Also, I read fics depending on mood so if I'm craving for something long, I read LOOOOOONG fics (like, 30+ chaptered ones XD) but when I wanted to read something short, a drabble or two usually does it. Good thing I was craving for something long when I read this XD

AIMIYA ♥ kdjalksjd;jl;dj MY HEART WILL LOVE THEE MORE IF THIS BECOMES A REALITY ON YOUR SEQUEL!!!

LOL my same dilemma. It's like the sequel will never overcome the original. But sometimes, you just have to let your crazy ideas work its wonders and write yourself something that is satisfying for yourself without having to worry about comparing the two (even though its inevitable, sadly).

Whatever your decision is, this fic already let me enjoy a wonderful journey and thank you for that /hugs back

Wow, I totally loved that story. <3 I am really, really picky with humor, but this slight ironic and just fantastic humor was brilliant.

All the parts where you numbered things were just great. *lol* I totally loved Aiba here, poor boy. He is a bit .... stupid, but in a loveable, clumsy way. :D

The idea with the more or less useless crew was just perfect. ^^ Nino and Aiba at the top. :DDDD Poor Nino, he is always seasick. ^^

Oh, the dog is just great. It's so ... ugly. ^^

I totally loved the whole solution for it. THe things with the slight magic, or fantasy part. I totally loved that.
I also loved it that Ohno is also a part of them. ^^

Thanks sooo much for that story, I really loved it and all the ideas you had here. :)

*hugs*

Here I am.:D You blew me away--SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Okay lets get right to it. There are many things I love about this fic. But i will try to go in order or it will be all over the place.

First, a general observation, I love how your fics seem like someone threw puzzle pieces in the air at the beginning and by the end magically a completed picture sits before your eyes---only it was put together so gradually piece by piece that you hardly saw any movement or hands putting the puzzle together, the information sort of settling in your brain bit by bit until you understood everything. As I've already told you that was how White Sand was for me, and now that I think on it Jade and Azure as well. Well you know how I felt about those fics and now I must add one more to the list.

I like that when we meet Ohno, we know he does not belong in his environment, but we don't know why. And what we find out about the crew of the Queen Matsumoto, we find out because Ohno must find out, we find out everything because Ohno must adjust to his new environment, because Ohno is searching for a place where he will belong--even if he does not know it himself.

The crew is lovable---yes in general I love Nino best but here we share a similar tendency---I too get seasick (ask me about the catamaran in Hawaii sometime---hilarious). Aiba, Sho, Nino and Jun shadow their RL counterparts in a most delicious way.

I love the scent of adventure. Touches like that gave it a real nostalgic feeling--like an old folktale--and i haven't seen that in a fic before.

I love that Aiba cannot swim--yet he works on a boat. Of course Ohno comes up with a sensible solution. I love how the Ohno character makes suggestions and is the missing piece for all the crew at different times, most especially he complements Jun in this way.

I haven't mentioned your humor yet, but to me if this is a puzzle--that is the glue. One of my favorite parts was when they are fighting the giant octopus---this line--"This one ate meat." I laughed so hard at that.

I love when Jun saves Ohno--the cheetah and the eagle. I was moved by it and i thought it a wonderful way of signifying that they belong together. I love the seed that is planted at this moment, which is so satisfying at the end when you reveal Ohno's secret identity (no I will not spoil here lol)

And then the narrative deepens just at the right time, with the knowledge that Jun's life is in danger. By then the entire crew is precious ne. And we see the loyalty to Jun. And Ohno's love for Jun deepening as well.

I have to comment on the smexiness--hot--so close--almost there--but enough for now (for now :D)

By the end of the fic I was watching out for skeleton hands myself (scary) and being so thankful for Cucumbers existence and of course wanting more more more. This was so wonderful. I've already mentioned how I think you should proceed. I definitely think a sequel is in order, Can you really deny us this? Hugs to you my friend!

Sorry I only managed to come online today >.<
Ok first of all i must say i love this story A LOT! its one of my favorite top story~ I wanted to read this when you posted it , but i was having econs and maths exam then and i bookmarked it and then well...the bookmarks accumulated haha. Last week i finally decide that my number of bookmarks are getting ridiculous and while clearing, i found this! Its like finding a titbit tucked away xD

Ok firstly! I must say i loveeeeeee the plot!!! and i honestly feel that its awesome enough to make into a movie, if we can get arashi as the cast xD Really! Im the type to imagine the story in my mind as i read along and I can only say my tension got higher and higher while reading! I read a part of it in school during lecture and I kept giggling into my phone and grinning at my friends and they were like 'whats wrong with you?! ' hahaha!

and then when i read till the part which says the key chooses you, its fate, i totally went 'oooh! Reminds me of kingdom hearts!!!! Nazukashii!!!!''

I think its really a wonderful fic, the plot is really interesting! i can go on reading if theres more! ;D and its also humorous and i think the personality fits the characters well! not to mention, while reading, i kept having this image in my mind xD

Finally, I was able to read this fic and the two parts in one go!
It was really good! Adventures fic are rare and you did the narrative in a very good way that kept all my attention and made me want to read more! Also, it was so much fun! I laughed a lot in several parts! All the topic parts were really fun and cucumber is the key to the fun! XDD
Of course, Juntoshi made everything even better and hot! ^.~
Thanks a lot for sharing this fic, I loved it! ^.^
I guess, now, I finished all your Juntoshi fics! I hope to be able to read more Juntoshi from you in the future! ^.~
I also hope you are doing fine! Take care! ^.^
