Satoshi however, a young barista, loves Masaki’s university lecturer Matsumoto, who is a regular in his coffeeshop. But Jun has a friends with benefits thing with his former senpai Sho. Sho however, a young lawyer, has never believed in love, until he falls in love with Masami, a young pet shop owner. Masami however laid her eyes on the cute guy Masaki, who helps in her shop sometimes. And Masaki? He can’t see Nino the same anymore ever since that night two years ago…
Note: Happy birthday to my dear

Masaki wakes up to the smell of burnt flour and sugar, and an annoyed squeal coming from the kitchen. He basically rolls out of his bed on all fours, still half-asleep and drags himself to the kitchen. His brother is standing in front of five baking trays, all with different versions of cakes in them. One seems to be still half-raw. One still in preparation, one burnt.
“Trying out a brand-new recipe again?” Masaki yawns.
His brother grumbles in annoyance, his small face scrunched in concentration. “I have this great idea,” he complains. “But I just can’t find the right temperature to work with! The inside is supposed to stay fluid, but when I bake everything too high for a short time the outer dough burns.”
Masaki nods without much interest. He is used to his brother trying to create a new cake or muffin recipe every month. Nothing new. If he is lucky it will work out by the end of the week, and he will get to eat tons of freshly made cake, as Satoshi is also eager to try out new toppings. And who is better to pre-taste his creations than his very own, cake-addicted younger brother?
“Did I wake you up?” Satoshi asks guiltily. “Want some coffee?”
Masaki eyes him through his best puppy eyes. “Hot chocolate?”
“You are lucky,” Satoshi grins. “I’ve bought quite some white chocolate and coconut powder. I can mix you some hot white-coconut chocolate.”
Masaki almost purrs in delight at these promising words, even more so when Satoshi indeed places a huge cup with promised sweet and chocolaty liquid in front of him. “Oh my god,” he breaths out when he takes a sip. “Orgasm.”
Satoshi blushes. “Don’t be ridiculous.”
“Totally, you need to save one cup for Nino. He is dropping by later.” Masaki sighs dreamily “Or even better, prepare something like this for a dude you find hot. He will instantly go to bed with you. Or when you want someone to be your boyfriend.”
Satoshi snorts. “What if I find someone who doesn’t like chocolate?”
“Easy, don’t waste your time and find someone new.”
Satoshi chuckles.
“Do you have someone you like?” Masaki asks curiously.
Satoshi smiles. “Enough of that weird talk, just eat your breakfast.”
Masaki pouts, again his brother skilfully dodges all the questions about his love life. Masaki doesn’t even know if he has a love life to be honest, he never takes someone home, never talks about someone he likes. He just knows that every Tuesday and Saturday he is particularly eager to go to work. Well, maybe he has the hots for one of his waiters. Who knows? Or he just enjoys said days because he has something planned afterwards…

“Which classes do we have tomorrow?” Masaki asks. “Lost my schedule.”
Nino grins. “You idiot! How could you lose your schedule? Be thankful you have me.”
“I am, now tell me. I fear the worst,” Masaki whines, loving it to mess around with his best friend. Sundays are his favourites, especially when Nino drops by and they can gossip about university and their co-students and teachers.
“You fear right,” Nino sighs dramatically. “Double-M class!”
“NO!”
“Yes,” Nino sighs. “English literature and then creative writing.”
“Two Matsumoto classes on Monday morning?” Masaki gasps. “What were we thinking when we signed up for them?”
“You know, I for one need to get a good letter of recommendation for my internship upcoming spring. I want to work for a good magazine. And Matsumoto, well, he has a good reputation and his name weighs quite a lot.”
“Yes, he has a reputation,” Masaki sighs. “Namely that he is super-strict and demands tons of work. I’m already dreading the huge list of books to read he will hand us out tomorrow. Everyone knows he takes failure in his class as a personal insult.”
“I know,” Nino complains. “I hate hard work.” He looks at Masaki curiously. “Why did you sign up for his classes?”
Masaki sighs. “Well, his classes are good. If I want to become a teacher, I have to at least attend some of his classes. Good thing we’re stuck there together.”
“At least he is hot,” Nino says with a grin.
“Who is hot?” Satoshi’s voice comes from behind, he is bringing them some of his new cake creation which doesn’t look burned anymore and white hot chocolate.
Nino blushes slightly. “No one,” he hurries to say.
Masaki blinks in confusion. What’s with that reaction? “Matsumoto-sensei,” he says instead of his friend. “We have two of his classes tomorrow. He always asks a lot from his students. But at least he looks good.”
Satoshi tilts his head. “Is that so?” he muses in his typical indifferent tone, and Masaki isn’t even sure if he listens to them. He smiles at them though. “Tell me how you like the cake,” he says. “I need your honest opinion. Yours too, Kazunari-kun!”
Nino winces and almost drops his cup with hot chocolate. “I… of course… I’m sure it’s awesome… as always.”
Satoshi smiles and retreats, and Nino buries his head in his hands. “Fuck, what am I even doing!? Your brother has to think I’m an idiot.”
“You aren’t an idiot,” Masaki soothes his friend. “And my brother for sure thinks you are a good guy.”
“Did he talk about me?” Nino asks hopefully.
Masaki blinks. “Not really,” he stutters. When Nino looks down all of a sudden, it gives a twitch to Masaki’s stomach. His good mood is suddenly blown away, and he isn’t even sure why. “He is not talking about guys or girls in general though,” he points out. “He is really private.”
Nino nods tentatively, and to Masaki’s relief he isn’t continuing to talk about his crush on Satoshi anymore. He knows it’s petty to think like that, he and Nino have been friends since Middle School, best friends, and Masaki wants to support Nino in everything he wants to do. His own feelings shouldn’t matter, because he is sure Nino doesn’t see him that way at all. Maybe he should help him getting closer to Satoshi? As much as it pains, but best friends are there to help?
~~~
“Sho-san,” Jun grabs the bedrest behind him to save his head from hitting the wall. “Not that strong,” he sighs when Sho bites down on his shoulder. “I have a class tomorrow. Morning.”
Sho just chuckles. “But we both know you like it rough.”
“Shut up,” Jun complains, driving his fingers through Sho’s hair, before tugging at it roughly. Sho squeals, revealing his neck and Jun dives in to suck at it. Right back at you, he thinks, you sassy idiot. His surprise attack works and gives Jun a moment to nip at Sho’s skin roughly before Sho comes to his senses and swiftly turns Jun over to fuck him from behind.
Jun chuckles. Nothing is easier than turning Sakurai Sho on. It’s even easier to rile him up.
Two hours later they are finished with their third round, and Jun feels every bone in his body ache. “Shit,” he mumbles tiredly. “You really did me thoroughly, Sho-san.”
“Sorry,” Sho smiles, but looks smug at the same time. Jun frowns, that smug grin would rile him up enough normally to smack it from Sho’s face, but he is too tired now.
God he hates Sho’s guts, but he is so freaking good in bed.
He and Sho had this kind of on-off relationship since High School. Sho is not the type who likes to commit to someone, which is why Jun is okay with how things are now, despite his best friend complaining about Sho’s lacking boyfriend qualities each day.
Sho smacks Jun teasingly. “I would love to have breakfast with you, but work.”
“I know, you workaholic,” Jun sighs dramatically. “Just go, you idiot.”
“I’m inviting you for lunch another time this week. How about Tuesday or Wednesday?”
“Wednesday,” Jun mumbles. Tuesday is his alone-time, where he is off from university and can go to his favourite little coffee- and pastry shop. The atmosphere there is so calming and relaxing, he normally takes a book with him to read and just relaxes there. The owner, a kind and calm guy, always reserves his seat there on Tuesdays, and mostly also on Saturday mornings when Jun comes for breakfast.
He is not ready to give his Tuesdays up. Especially not for someone who sees more value in his butt than his personality.
He is hopeless, Jun thinks. Sho is only there for sex, ever since he was his senpai in school. It doesn’t mean Sho isn’t kind, but he is just not someone who wants to be a boyfriend to anyone, no matter how much Jun wishes they could actually become a real couple. He sighs deeply, switching into his fresh clothes after the shower and closing the door to the hotel room.
~~~
“Wow, aren’t we late?” Nino sneers when he sees his cousin coming back.
“Same back to you,” Sho snorts.
“But I was studying, you however… don’t look like you were,” Nino grins, pointing at Sho’s neck.
“Oh damn it,” Sho’s hand wanders to his neck, covering the hickey. “I forgot about that.”
Nino laughs. His cousin has always been a huge womanizer and man-eater, or however, but other than his loose relationships, he is actually a great and generous guys. He is the one paying for Nino’s tuition and even lets him live with him in his huge apartment. Nino’s family is from the countryside and his parents simply can’t afford for him to study. But Sho could. And education is so important to him that he helped Nino out big time. The only thing he asked from Nino was to study full-heartedly.
Nino knows the meaning of money, and as someone else pays for his university he is more than eager to make the best out of it. He owes it, to Sho and to himself.
“You know, Sho-chan, with a hickey like that you will never find a serious relationship,” Nino teases while he sets the table. Sho brought home some food. Sho himself is already opening his laptop to work on a new case.
“Why do you think I want to have a serious relationship?”
“But aren’t you meeting this guy since years already?” Nino asks curiously, always wondering who this on-off relationship of Sho actually is.
“For years is an exaggeration, we had something in High School. But then didn’t meet for years. I only met him again last year, and we are having sex since a few months.”
Nino raises his eyebrows. “And you don’t find him hot enough to keep him?”
Sho laughs. “I find him incredibly hot, which is why I don’t want to lose him. But jeez, we would kill each other in a relationship. Besides we both agreed on keeping it loose.”
Nino puts some of the noodles on his plate, chewing on them thoughtfully. “Aren’t you too old for a friends with benefit thing?”
“Kazu,” Sho chuckles. “As long as no one gets hurt, it’s okay, isn’t it? Besides he and I are making good friends in general. When he finds someone he likes, I will let him go and vice versa.” He smiles. “What about you?”
Nino sighs deeply. “I wished I had your confidence.”
“What do you mean?”
“There is someone I like” Nino admits. When it’s Sho he can be open. “I’ve liked him since forever, but I think he only sees a kid in me. You know my best friend Masaki, right? He is his younger brother.”
“Hm,” Sho hums. “It’s always difficult to shift the perception of someone after years, but don’t give up yet. He probably hasn’t realized you are a man.”
“You mean, I should try to show him that I’m an adult and available?” Nino asks.
“Yeah, but don’t do anything drastic,” Sho warns him. “I don’t mean it as in you should strip naked and lunge at his neck. But rather show him you are grown-up, talk to him more, show some confidence, try to meet him casually and not just when you are meeting his brother.”
Kazu nods tentatively. That’s actually good advice, he thinks. Maybe he should also talk to Masaki about it. He is his best friend after all. Would he mind helping to set Nino up with his older brother or would it be too weird for him? But then he and Masaki have always been honest to each other…
“By the way, I’m getting free tickets for the amusement park. Wanna go together?”
Nino nods happily. Parks like these are expensive, so he normally stays away from them. But if Sho got tickets, he is of course ready to come along. Besides he likes to hang out with Sho anyways.
“You can also invite someone, if you want to,” Sho offers. “What about Masaki-kun? I haven’t seen him since forever.”
“Is that really okay?” Nino asks happily.
“Sure!”
~~~
“Thank you for your help, Masaki-san,” Masami smiles brightly and bows in front of the young guy.
Despite being a student Masaki is so reliable, helping out in her animal shelter regularly. He doesn’t even want any money or compensation, says he does it for the animals.
Masaki laughs his bright smile, the one that sends butterflies through her stomach. He is young, she knows that, just around 23 or 24 maybe, which means he is a few years younger than her, but to her it doesn’t matter. A kind-hearted, reliable and sweet guy like him is all she ever wanted.
Masaki pats the head of the fluffy cat that’s new in the shop. “It’s you who is doing all the work, Masami-san,” he says softly. “I’m just here a few hours each week.”
“I’m sorry I can’t pay you anything,” she says guiltily. “But tell me if you need it for your résumé after university.”
“Oh,” Masaki blinks. “I didn’t think of that at all, but you are right. I think it could be important for me later.” He looks at his clock. “Oh damn it, I have to go back home. My brother is waiting. We want to have lunch together.”
“Of course,” she smiles warmly. “See you next week.”
He nods, and waves her goodbye before hurrying away. Masami chuckles. He is always so adorable.
She is so caught up in her thoughts that she doesn’t even realize the scene happening outside. A child is crying, and a guy is standing there, looking annoyed while tugging at a balloon! What? What kind of awful guy takes away a child’s balloon? She knows this kind of guys, they are always around the amusement park here, bullying the little kids sometimes
When the kid cries and reaches out its hands towards the balloon, she has had it. She rushes outside. “What are you doing!? Give that back to the child!” she yells, raising her hand and cracking it across the guy’s cheek.
The guy yelps and winces in shock, eyes wide while he clutches his cheek. Masami glares at him. “Didn’t you listen!? A grown-up man like you shouldn’t bully a little kid!”
“Eh,” the little boy looks up at her, eyes wide. He even forgot to continue crying. “Onee-chan?”
Masami smiles warmly at him. “Yes little one?”
The boy points at the balloon-thief-bully. “The uncle here just helped me with the balloon.”
Masami blinks in confusion, staring at the man again and then at the balloon in his hands. It’s only then that she realizes that the end of the thread of the balloon got caught up in a mess of strings from an advertisement in front of the shop. “Oh…” she blushes. “OH!” Bowing deeply, she blurts out. “I’m so sorry Sir!”
The guy still blinks but let’s go of his cheek and laughs all of a sudden. He hands back the balloon to the kid, before turning towards her. “What a day,” he chuckles. “It’s the first time something like that happened to me.”
“I’m so sorry,” she mumbles miserably.
He looks at her thoughtfully, then he smiles. “It’s okay, not many people actually show civil courage. Even if you were wrong today, you might save someone for real next time. Besides…” he chuckles. “My younger cousin will have a field trip when I tell him about this here.”
She sighs in relief. “Please at least come in my shop and let me prepare some coffee or tea for you.” She pauses. “Oh, by the way, I’m Masami.”
The man smiles a crooked chipmunk smile. “Sho,” he says.
A/N: What the hell was I thinking to make not just a love triangle but a love hexagon? I know, emotionally this is all still a bit confusing, as everyone likes someone else, but believe me it will be resolved at one point.
So, Masaki likes Nino. But Nino likes Satoshi (who is Masaki's brother). But Satoshi likes Jun (wo is Nino's/Masaki's university lecturer). But Jun likes Sho (who is Nino's cousin). But Sho likes Masami (who is... *fornowasecret). But Masami likes Masaki. And so the cirlce continues :D
By the way, don't worry, yuki-chan, there won't be much SM! I promise!! Focus is on the other couples!
So, here I am. First of all thank you for writing a multi for me. ๐๐
Oh my that will end in a huge mess of feelings. ๐ฅ๐ถ poor Aiba he already senses that there is something wrong with his feelings for Nino, but he doesn't realize that it's a crush by now. And out of all Nino wants his brother ๐
Masami and the balloon *lol* she seems pretty confident and strong. ๐
Thanks for writing this for me, I am curious how this'll go on. โฅโฅ
Nino has no idea that Masaki might like him... :-/ (btw. Masami is probably going to be a bit like us... rather clumsy :D)
Date: 2017-11-10 02:40 am (UTC)Well, it sounds complicated but the characters haven't developed that much so this will be eventually resolved for sure! For Juntoshi (because I love them like crazy), I think it won't be hard for Jun to get attracted to Satoshi once they get more interaction because Satoshi will really value Jun the way Jun wishes it to be (with Sho supposedly). For Sho and Masami,..Sho was alreayd hit by Cupid's arrow so of course he'll definitely do something about it even if the feeling seems foreign to him..LOL I don't want to talk too muuuuuuuch! Hhahhahah just excited heeeeeeeeere! Thank you so much dear! <3
Date: 2017-11-19 01:24 pm (UTC)Wow, if thing keep up this way, everyone will be brokenhearted. At this point I haven't seen any hope for anyone but perhaps in the next chapter? I wonder...
However I like the setting where Aiba and Nino are bff and at the same age, whereas Ohno, Sho and Jun at similar age bracket. Matsumoto as a strict lecturer is something I can imagine for real XD
This is really interesting!
Okay I'll head to the new chapter!
