akhikaru 's fault, and also learashi , with their prompt tables and awesome drabble series <3 I've decided to treat this like a challenge. I'm using a prompt-table from lj, and will write these drabbles as they come to my mind, withoug planning anything in advance. Jun realizes something is happening from the students sticking to the windows of their classrooms and looking outside, some of them talking excitedly with each other, some sounding scared, worried, curious. Some are even calling encouraging words outside, like they are trying to encourage someone. To put it short: There is a huge fuss going on.
Jun frowns, curiously approaching one of the windows in the first floor, following the direction everyone is looking at. The school’s backyard. Two guys are fighting, fists flying through the air, a mess of limbs, hands tugging at hair, legs kicking, two bodies rolling over the ground. For a moment Jun feels dumbfounded, like he can’t believe his eyes, like someone switches the pause-button of a movie, then however it suddenly hits him, and before things can escalate further he rushes outside.
He stumbles right over a very desperate Toma, one of Sho’s and Satoshi’s classmates and friends, who yells at them at the moment and tries to reason with them. But it seems like it’s in vain, because Satoshi’s fist hits Sho in his face, and it’s not the first time by the way Sho’s nose is bloody and there is a bruise on his left cheek. Satoshi doesn’t look any better though, blood dripping from his lip, and his cheek swollen, the sleeve of his shirt ripped.
“What is going on?” Jun cries out towards Toma.
Toma just looks at him helplessly. “It’s just…” His voice trails off like he isn’t sure what he is supposed to say.
“But why are the fighting” Jun shakes his head. Satoshi has not been in a fistfight, ever. He is the most composed person in school. So, sure, Sho and Satoshi don’t like each other much, they are the most-gossiped about guys in school as Sho is vice president and Satoshi leads the art club, and they have to work together plenty of times. It’s not a secret that they despise each other, though Jun doesn’t know why. Sho never tells him when he asks, and Satoshi doesn’t say anything either. They are different, Toma says. Composed and calm Satoshi, and short-tempered and stubborn Sho. But Jun knows there is probably more to it. They were friends once, weren’t they?
“You-“ Satoshi huffs angrily. “I don’t care how messed up you are! Get your fucking shit together and stop involving someone else.”
“I’m not involving someone else,” Sho hisses. “Stop pretending like you care! You care for no one!”
“At least I don’t hurt anyone,” Satoshi yells. “You heartless piece of-“
“Stop it!” Jun calls out desperately, his heart clenching by seeing his two favourite senpais, one of them he even deeply loves, ripping each other apart. Literally. He rushes forward, ignoring Toma’s yells not to intervene and slipping past his hand that is about to grip him and hold him back. “Please stop it!” He begs while running towards the two guys.
Later on he isn’t sure anymore if it’s Satoshi’s elbow that hits him in his face or Sho’s knee in his stomach that knocks him off his feet. He just realizes that suddenly it’s surprisingly quiet. When he opens his eyes again he is at the nurse’s station, his head hurts slightly. When he sits up he can see how Sho and Satoshi are standing outside – apparently they brought him here – getting yelled at by their headmaster.
Jun’s heart aches, he doesn’t want them to get in trouble. They are both such good guys, it’s for sure just a misunderstanding. He crawls out of the bed, sneaking to the door and opening it. The nurse squeals. “You are supposed to lie down, Matsumoto-kun, until we know if you have a concussion.”
The three guys outside turn their heads, different kinds of expressions gracing their faces. Satoshi looks worried. Sho almost sad. Headmaster Kimura angry. The headmaster sighs. “You should listen to the doctor, Matsumoto-kun.”
Jun frowns. “But…” He shakes his head. “It’s just, I don’t want…”
“I know,” Kimura says. “I’m done yelling anyways.” He looks at the other two. “Are you done too?”
Sho and Satoshi throw each other a look that’s full of judgemental and hatred.
“Don’t fight anymore,” Jun begs.
“I hate him,” Sho grumbles, throwing Satoshi an annoyed glance.
“Please don’t say that,” Jun says beggingly.
Sho frowns, apparently even more pissed. “Whatever,” he huffs, before turning around and leaving.
Jun feels his heart aching all of a sudden. Just how often did he already see Sho’s back? He just can’t get used to him walking away. He feels dizzy again, and his eyes burn. Satoshi saves him from the embarrassment of bursting into tears though because he grabs his arm and leads him inside. “Come,” he says calmly, like the fistfight did never happen. “Let’s get you back to the nurse.”
A/N: To their defence: They are all pretty young. Sho and Satoshi are only one year older than Jun. But still... ><
