Plot: It's always been okay for him to be the person in a relationship who loves more.

Jun wonders if the pain is ever going to go away. It just hurts so much. When his mother got sick, he would often sit at her side and just hold her hand, and she would talk to him with so much warmth, like she always did, like everything was normal. She was the warmest person ever, the most beautiful.

 

When she had no other chance but to leave, she called for him one last time. “I’ll always be up there,” she pointed at the sky. “Watching you.” She smiled. “My biggest wish is for you to become happy, and try as hard as possible to be happy.”

 

Jun had tears in his eyes. “I am happy when you are with me.”

 

His mother’s smile was still shining strong. “It’s not always that simple. Jun, sweetheart, the path to happiness is not always a straight one.” She pats his chest softly. “I’ll always be in there. A part of me will never leave you.”

 

 

It’s a few days later when Jun is lying in his bed, exhausted from all his crying, that he gets up and roams the house. He can’t sleep, and his dad is weirdly occupied it seems, hardly paying him attention. He goes to his mother’s room, just to feel her presence again. The room is empty though, and sad, gloomy. He sits down on the floor, ready to cry again when he sees a little box right next to her bed. Apparently they all didn’t see it when they cleaned up. Jun is surprised to find his name on the box. When he opens it carefully, he finds a tiny letter For my beloved little baby. I will always be watching over you, my dear.  Inside the box he finds her engagement ring, and the thin golden necklace she was always wearing – there is a little charm with the symbol of a sun and butterflies attached to it. Then there is a little self-made plush puppy which she apparently made herself.

 

Jun’s hands shiver when he takes all the items, deciding to hide them well and forever keep them and cherish them. He puts his hand on his chest, feeling a little warmer all of a sudden.


A/N: OMG I feel like I should hide behind a rock for taking so long to update this! The funny thing is... I already had this finished since a few weeks ago, but I completely forgot to continue posting ><
